The question I asked earlier and no-one who says it's just "prankish" has been able to answer is that if there is no sexual context why was a sexual organ used and the same for teabagging etc. That body part was used for a reason - not for gratification - but as a symbolic representation of the undertones.

Guy pulls his mates hat off and sticks it down the front of his pants....now his mate knows where its been and possibly has the smell of this guys testicles....sexual organs used but not in a sexual way.

Personally im on the fence with this one but swaying towards the it should be classed as sexual assault.

Taking your example there:

Same hat: a) as you describe b) under armpit

Then ask 1000 people which they would find worse. Like I said even if there is no sexual gratification or desire the overtones still remain and can't be removed which you seem to agree with from that example there.

Which bit?

All of it? Why is it hilarious? We know you find it hilarious that is the superficial but we are talking about deeper connotations and meaning therefore what makes it hilarious?

This seems to be the problem here one group of people looking at something in a very superficial context and others looking at the meaning behind behaviours.

Well, I've pretty much explained it. A penis is just funny - a little floppy bit of flesh jiggling about. Then the "naughty" aspect I mentioned, and the "dirty" aspect I edited in. It all adds up to a cringy, naughty, funny action, without any sex involved. It's equally funny in a guy-on-guy situation in a group of hetero mates (i.e. guys who might feel a bit awkward at overt homosexual stuff).

Personally think the sentence is deserved. You would think as a criminology student he would have more sense.
The article doesn't go in to specifics, however "shoving his penis in the face of a young woman after she fell asleep" is awful. Especially considering if said penis went in to her mouth he would have just committed rape.

One thing to take into consideration....just because he penis wasn't hard doesn't mean it wasn't sexual from his side.....says he had plenty to drink and maybe he just wasn't up to it.

May seem a little far fetched but is possible.

I'd put this on the same level as the old 'urinating in someones pint gag' which I witnessed happening at university. I'm sure that wouldnt have ended up with jail time or even been taken seriously by the police.

Lad culture. Although usually it's directed at other lads for laughs. Bums in faces, penises on cheeks, cummy biscuits ..

I've heard of students sticking ***** up another students *** before aswell. No charges were brought forward. Although apparently he was pretty damn angry.

I wasn't involved. It's all a bit gay I think. Not sure why supposedly straight guys are interested in the above.

Yeah man, we should also support making it hard for people released from prison to find jobs and increase the likelihood of them re-offending, yeah!

You do realise there's a very good reason criminals can't be lawyers and doctors right?

The last thing you want is people released from prison going into those professions...

a bit gay?

but seriously doing pranks on your mates is one thing, slapping girls you don't know in the face with your penis is another.

If he'd have done it to a bloke I doubt the sentence would be the same. Thought women are equal?

Just because you think that a bloke would be treated differently in this situation doesn't mean they actually would be. Bemoaning women being More-Equal™ than men on the back of your hunch tells more about you than our legal system.
