What is your favorite album?

A few that come to mind:

St Anger

Interesting choice, I do think it is a better album that a lot of people give it credit and I certainly think it has got better with age but not sure it would be up there with my favorites.

On the subject of Metallica, I would say Master of Puppets. It's a predictable choice but the reason it is so popular is because it is so great.

I would also say Mark, Tom and Travis show. Their childish sense of humour never gets old to me. Finally I would say Papa Roach Last Resort, it is an ild album but I still regularly out it on.

I have loads of favourites but Led Zep II is what i always go back to when i'm lost for something to listen to. Not so much on the headphones but more in the house.

Imma take another Pink Floyd choice and go with Animals. love the energy , guitar riffs and the lyrics. To boot it's inspired by George Orwell's Animal Farm ( sheep, pigs, dogs ) and I love Orwell also.

ahah i knew i was'nt alone, Animals is like Rumors, even Thiller with every song being brilliant. and RATM - RATM is definetly up there too.

Probably Tool - Lateralus but could easily be a few other albums on another day; Sikth The trees are dead... and Strapping Yound Lad City. Killswitch Engage Alive or Just Breathing and Dillinger Escape Plan Miss Machine are also contenders.

I'd say either Anema by Tool or Damnation by Opeth. The latter being the must beautiful album I've heard listened to. Don't research who Opeth are, just listen to Damnation. It's amazing.
As for Anema, it's an album I always go back to. Doesn't matter if I haven't listened to metal or rock for ages, it always pleases me when I listen to it.

I agree with you on Aenima, I love lateralus but lateralus is them showing off and comes off a bit 'cold' sounding to me.

Aenima is genius and my favourite Tool song Pu**** is on it

There's a lot of activity on www.toolband.com lately so I think we can expect something new from them soon.

I'm a massive White Stripes fan, So I'd have to Say their First Album The White Stripes, as it just epitomizes what I love about Rock and Blues, while creating some of the best riff's and Licks I've ever heard, simply makes me go into a state of awe!

However, Rumors by Fleetwood Mac is a very close second.

Talk Talk Spirit of Eden.

Nothing comes close for me... though Kate Bush's The Hounds of Love is up there, along with TT albums either side of Spirit... Colour of Spring and Laughing Stock.

Yep - agree 100%. Those three TT albums make a fantastic trilogy. Mark Hollis' solo album is also amazing.

Only other album I'd put at that level is Dark Side of The Moon.

Honourable mentions to So by Peter Gabriel, The Seeds of Love by Tears for Fears, Aja by Steely Dan and Led Zeppelin IV.

Damn, it's hard to choose one album....:(

Jeff Wayne - war of the worlds ( going seeing it in manchester in November) I simply never tire of listening to it and if I had the money I'd spend a fortune on audio equipment just to hear it sound better

Honourable mention goes to NIN - pretty hate machine and Faith No More - the real thing
