*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

Nice one big man. It's a shame you're only able to throw about petty insults.

It simply demonstrates how tactless and rude an individual you are.

Also, I should probably point out (as clearly some have misunderstood), I was berating the rather poor "major" update that Sony are bringing to the table. At that moment I wasn't drawing comparison to the Xbox. Others brought that up!

Ok. Apologies for being a little petty.

You still miss the main point of my post, however.

Nobody is interested in your opinion.

To be fair the play and share feature they are bringing to this "minor" update is far more interesting to me as a gamer than DLNA, voice control or being able to play vids from USB.

Likewise, my smart tv plays media just fine. I'm looking forward to co op play with my brother and friends etc... this update has some good features.

I just don't get this my console must do everything Tbh. I want my console to play games, and play games with others, and Sony are delivering in the regards.

as for psn issues, it hasn't been as bad as made out. but again imo

Still can't decide on X1/PS4. The only exclusives I want are on X1 but I know the PS4 is better (and most of the games I want are cross-platform anyway). That being said, I've not heard great things about PSN recently, especially considering I've never had any trouble with Xbox Live in about 5 years.

Edit: Not intended to start an argument; I know I want the PS4 but I have concerns over PSN.

This was the end of my decision making process.

i) I'm going to get both within a year.
ii) I wanted to play Forza Horizon 2 and Sunset Overdrive more than Infamous and Killzone.
iii) I knew I'd like the Xbone controller but wasn't sure about the DS4.
iv) Xbox Live arguably more reliable.
v) I've already got a 2TB external HDD so if I need more space, I can simply plug it in.
vi) I want to wait until the PS4 comes with a 1TB hard drive.

So I went with Xbone and I'm very happy with it. I've only played 3 games so far - Alien, FH2 and Diablo 3. I haven't noticed any problems with frame rates, resolution or whatever. If I hadn't read about such things on Eurogamer, I'd be none the wiser.

Good points above, but I still like my ps4, it's smaller. hasn't got the huge external power brick so it seems more portable so I can just move it around easily( small detail but useful enough for me) I also enjoy the games it's offering and I do enjoy its excellent performance in games, I notice screen tear a lot and thus far the ps4 for me has been a solid performer in that regards.

the controller is miles better then the previous dual shock and its so good imo that I even replaced my 360 pc controllers with ds4 controllers.

I also like the ps4 dashboard apart from its idea of having all your games in one long horizontal line, which I think firmware 2 is addressing.

I do also love the way I can use my pc headset in the ds4, the cost of setting up a ps4 for me due to having psn + a pc headset and no need for any media features as I've got a smart tv was imo lower then x1 anyhow...

so I've gone ps4 and stayed with it, but I've looked at forza horizon and sunset and thought, hmm like to play those, but then look at ps4 and think...

order 1886
Uncharted 4
Tesraway
Bloodborne
Little big planet 4

And the current games out now, and think. Csnt justly both, yet if I'd gone x1 first. I'd have for sure got a ps4 so you need to really think it over.. I know with ps4 I've got the better overall machine and I only need this one machine, if I'd gone x1 I'd for sure have two, and it'd cost me more.

1) You only want the Xbox exclusives.

2) Never had any trouble with Live and are concerned about PSN.

3) You "know" the PS4 is "better". Sounds like you're being swayed by propaganda rather than trying to assess if you can tell a difference yourself.

I'm trying to be as balanced a possible, however from your post it's surely got to be Xbox. At the very least you're saying you don't mind missing out on all the exclusives you want because of some perceived benefit you've read about on PS4 cross platform games. Madness!

It'd be more understandable if you quoted exclusives on PS4 you were interested in.

1TB SSD in a PS4..

I really can't see why anyone would want spend that much on a SDD for a PS4 at this time with so few worth while games to fill it...

EDIT: WOW I didn't realise 1TB SDD's cost only around £300 now http://www.overclockers.co.uk/showproduct.php?prodid=HD-171-SA&groupid=701&catid=2104&subcat=2394

you can pick up 500GB's which is plenty big for a decent price, but i'll wait another year til they drop below £100

if you really want you can get a 250GB SSD for around £70-£80 easy enough (brand new) which currently would be more than enough.

fifa 15 for example is around 14-16GB, not all games are 30GB+

It was free as I did a review on it.

Tbh I would just buy a 7200rpm drive the SSD is not worth it in my opinion. I'm well over 600GB on my PS4 now....

PSN issues have only really cropped up the last few months, there's really no reason to believe it'll be a long-term thing.

I play all day most days on bf4 and destiny without issue.? I don't see the massive problem people seem to have with PSN.
