*** The Official Playstation 4 (PS4) Thread ***

No Folders?

Not specifically, but it does sound like they've made improvements:
Content Area and Library: Find and access your content quicker with a redesigned Content Area and improved filter and sort functions for the PS4 Library.

The pause/resume downloads function will be great for those of us on slower connections.

Glad there'll be a proper backup function as well, you never know what a console or HDD might die.

Oh well, it's a start.
Putting it midlly - Sony need to start to communicate better so while they arent as fast at MS at pushing stuff out at least feel people that have spent money on their consoles feel like there is progress and that what we want is at least considered.

Im used to their approach after having the PS3, ultimately its how well they supported it games-wise that made me feel like the PS4 was the consoles I wanted (first) - they need to understand that goodwill only goes so far before they have to show their hand...

Personally Im far more interested in what games their first parties are making than what the OS does/doesnt do as its just something I only need to be game-centric

ps3ud0

I hope there's some more features they have left out. It still feels like it is 6 months behind XB1 for features, but tbh if I just had instant resume, that would make up for it :)

With regards to SharePlay, how does it work? They don't go into technical details but I guess the person without the game is streaming the video off your console and using his controller?

That's how it works. These videos may or may not explain some more stuff about shareplay and stuff... at least not technically but might still be interesting to some.

Saw them and they are scant on technical details. So it's just an extension of Gakai/PS Now only with you being the host server and your mate as the client. I think it's a great idea and sort of free so can't complain, but I expect lag etc.

It's basically the existing remote play tweaked to allow another PS4 to connect so if you've tried that before it should give you a rough idea of what to expect. Like remote play and other streaming its 720p / 30 fps. Suspect it will vary considerably by game as to just how good it is.

I'm just getting GTA V, by the time I'm done with that FC4 will be cheaper but GTA doesn't drop in price that much.

Yep - also for those asking earlier in the thread, as some suspected you will need a decent upload speed, around 4mb/s+ so doubt you'll be able to use it unless you're on fibre.

Gadget shows take on shareplay :-

http://gadgetshow.channel5.com/news/ps4-share-play-amazing-multiplayer-mode-unleashed-there’s-catch

" More excitingly, Share Play also lets you play local multiplayer game modes as if you and a friend were both on the same sofa, all via the web, which means only one of you has to own the game for you both to be able to enjoy it. "

Yes and as has been said before, it's a console feature, so it's not something game developers need to worry about unless they want to block it for some reason!
