any heavy crucible players in here able to explain something for me ?

I was playing some crucible last night, and the melee attack seems really inconsistent. I generally knock peoples shields off when I melee them, leaving at least 75% or more health. This was playing as my hunter

However I would go in for the melee, knock their health down, and they would then proceed to rely with their melee, but one hit me. This wasn't a running shoulder barge from the titan, this was me running up to them, toe to toe, hitting melee, then them meleeing back and killing me, meanwhile my 1st melee only partially damaged them. Its not a limitation of the hunter, as I've experienced the same with my titan, whereby hunters in the crucible seem to suddenly learch forward and one hit you.

Meanwhile, when I play as hunter, I can't one hit people. What gives ?

i've been playing crucible a lot lately and experience the same issue. it MIGHT be down to the titan having storm fist/warlock having scorch etc charged??

Melee abilities.

When melee is fully charged, apart from Hunter's throwing blade, I found all of them can 1 hit kill or linger (Sunsinger) till eventual death with 1 hit.

Hunters throwing blade took me awhile to master, but with the instant reload perk for precision throw, I can kill people in a 2 v 1 situation as long as I nail that first knife after shooting / damaging them before hand.

Hunter's blade dancer have an arc blade melee that does more damage if you hit the opponent's back.

I personally find Warlock's melee the longest in terms of range from a standing melee attack. Bladedancer's blink not included of course.

Thanks to righteous rabbit for dragging me through weekly heroic. Think level 28 was a bit above my level lol.

Apologies for no mic either. I was waiting on an important phone call so didn't want my headphones on

the little earpiece works fine i find when i dont want to wear pulse headphones... PS4 btw. The little one you get free with PS4 just hold down PS button whilst playing until adjust device options appears and set voice to headset only and pimp up the volume a bit... apologies if xbox player.

Reading around about the melee, appears that force barrier for the titan provides a melee boost without using the visually obvious shoulder charge. And the hunters who suddenly lurch forwards are blade dancers using blink strike.

Bladedancer melee attack can't 1 hit kill. There is only 1 situation where it does and that is from behind. Unlike Titans who seem to 1 hit kill me all the ****ing time and it does my head in.

well therin lies my problem

I've been one hit killed by the blade dancer blink strike in one hit from the front.

I think we can conclude that the reason for this is that the crucible is full of random BS and its not supposed to kill in one, but does sometimes just for the lols. Just not for me.

What I would love to see is for bungie to do a "positive" patch.

Pretty much every patch has been telling players that they have found something that bungie didn't expect and they don't like it. Weapon nerfs, fix easy ways to defeat bosses, network fixes.

Where is the "we have opened up a new area" or "we have added some new content". Queens bounties were BS and they nerfed those when they realised people just used them to farm shards. Iron banner is just crucible repackaged very slightly differently.

Perhaps its just a case that the server / game / whatever had registered two hits (from Bladedancer) but due to network factors (something that affects any multiplayer game) you only saw a single hit. Kind of link in Titanfall where you unload an entire clip into a player and they just one hit kick you. The kill cam shows you not firing.

where are the promised buffs to the poor exotics ? where is the improvements to the loot drops on raid we've all been screaming out for ? what about the countless suggested improvements post on reddit ? You're right, all the patches and hotfixes have been negative "this is wrong", "this needs to be made harder" "this weapon is too good". None of it is positive.

Like I said. Random BS ;)

patch notes are out

http://www.bungie.net/7_Update-1023---Patch-Notes/en/News/News?aid=12319

Summary
This update makes Destiny a more stable experience for all players. We’re also changing the player experience in the Raid to ensure that the activity provides an endgame challenge that meets project goals for the intended level of difficulty.

General
Fixed an issue in which multiple errors reported with Zebra error codes
Errors previously reporting as Zebra will now display as their own separate codes
Fixed a rare issue related to being Kicked To Login repeatedly
Fixed a rare issue that resulted in a Kick To Orbit reported with the Cockatoo error code

Servers
Fixed an issue where some players would occasionally be erroneously kicked at the beginning of an activity due to a server error
Increased protection against account corruption

Raid
Fixed an issue where Atheon was not choosing random targets for teleport through the timestream during the final encounter on the Vault of Glass
Fixed an exploit where Atheon could be forced off his platform

More updates are to follow as we continue to support Destiny. Future enhancements being worked on include Exotic Weapon tuning, new features for voice communication between matchmade teammates, and the ability to hold more Bounties in your pocket at any time.

Totally BS patch. Order of priorities completely wrong. And yet another attempt to drive a wedge between themselves and the community by not listenning to the feedback about teleportation and random players. Nobody wanted this, everybody agreed it was completely counter to their manta about team work. But they've done it anyway. Seriously, FO bungie.

Seems fine to me. Stops a few players carrying the team in the final encounter. Everyone has to know what they're doing and contribute. Also makes it easier if they do want to add matchmaking later.

This is what is annoying people. They get a good weapon and suddenly its nerfed. They nerf a weapon too much and leave it like that (pocket infinity). They promise buffs on rubbish exotics and don't do it.

They seem incapable of letting people choose how they want to play the game. I probably won't bother buying the expansions or playing this that much in a few weeks time as its just a grind to get better weapons and armour which will then be pointless once they release an update and lvl30 is no longer the pinnacle.

I had completed the story mode within a few days of getting the game and the strikes are just boring now. The only things I ever do are bounties, weekly, daily, nightfall and raid. Pretty much all of that is to get better gear or find shards etc.

They've never said that the exotic buff would be coming by a specific date, they owe you nothing.

Honestly they rush out a balance thing (autorifles, pocket infinity etc)...people complain. They take their time and...people still complain. Bungie should just do whatever they want because the vocal minority will be whining either way.

I don't complain about game balancing too often I usually get on with it and I will do it this time as well but I have to say the teleportation change seems stupid to me. It's like Bungie are annoyed that people have figured out their raid so quickly and they're making things harder just to test people. I don't mind things like fixing Atheon being pushed off the map and I suspct a similar patch will come to prevent The Templar suffering the same fate, those are clear exploits where things aren't working as intended. The teleportation change though seems like they're trying to tell you how to do the raid, the way they think you should do it which is utter nonsense. Fireteams should be able to play the game the way they want assuming they're not breaking or bending game code.

I'm happy with the patch! Had my fun pushing Atheon off the ledge, got to the point where it was more annoying than fun! Only takes ~10-15 minutes killing him properly anyway, and most people would spend more than that trying to him close to the edge to knock him off. Silly really. Even all the 'cheese spots' on strikes are beginning to annoy me, why do people need to do it on level 24 tiger playlist? It's not that difficult!

Glad there is some more stabilty improvements in there too, had been getting plagued with random disconnects for the past week or so. I'm sure the bigger improvements and changes are on their way, they did mention they have a large patch in certification stages at the moment in one of the weekly updates, so that's probably something :)
