**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Anyone else not getting a 1 next to the message icon on the dock when you receive a text message? I'm using Nova launcher with the notification app.
 
i am in search of a new smartphone.

Had a look at the stores and checked the G3, Z3 and S5. The Z3 seemed much snappier than both others. G3 and S5 seemed to be ever-so-slightly lagging when you pressed the app buttons or tried to enter/exit any apps. Can anyone confirm this impression? A snappy phone is my top priority as I get annoyed with lagging/sluggish performance.

I thought it may have been because everyone plays with those phones in the shop (but then again why wouldn't Z3 exhibit the same?).

I've read multiple reviews of these phones but I'd like the opinion of anyone that has used 2 of them in terms of what they liked/disliked over the others.

Photos and video is not something I'm too fussed about (I got a Samsung S2 so anything will be an improvement).
 
If you have a pink spot....exchange it? Simples?

It is a fantastic phone. I need a really slim case for it, anyone got a recommendation? I hate ruining phones with cases but this is so slippy it is probably best.

I went for the Case-mate barely there in clear..its very thin, adds protection to the corners and stops the back from getting scratched

I emailed case mate asking about their thin tough case as its pre-order, apparently in for Tuesday. Ive orderd one :D

Not really simples...I can't be bothered to go through the rigmarole of having to send the defective one back and get a new one only to find that it may also be defective too.

I'm a busy man and I CBA'd with faffing about with defective phones. I'll wait for the Z4 instead.

Indeed it's a lottery...when there's an issue with the camera and it's a fundamental part of the phone it then becomes a major problem.

My Z3c had the same issue so I must have really bad luck :(
 
I hate that you've drawn my attention to this. It's way too late for me to return mine, but it's also difficult to 'unsee' that pink spot.
