Tim Cook officially comes out as gay

Not sure how anybody doesn't know who Tim Cook is unless they don't keep up with any form of current affairs or read any sort of news outlet.

I don't know who the CEO of BAE is either, I don't doubt he's been on the news & in the papers, but as I'm not interested, I don't pay attention or read the articles.

So the new iphone is bendable and so is the CO :)
Wonder if the phone will now come with gaydar pre installed now.

Is there any need for this ? Do you think this is why homosexuals hide in closets because there are people such as you in society ?

You carry on with your massive generalisations / stereotyping

Nope, I dislike Apple as a company and the way they operate.

They are a fantastic company and the way they operate is superb. :D

They brainwash and hook consumers, have them coming back for more and more, limit cross-platform compatibility so that you need more Apple products to compliment your Apple products, manage to charge obscene amounts of money for their products, while maintaining an absolutely fantastic company image.

You may not like the way they go about business, but you cannot deny that as a business, a money spinning operation, they are one of the best.

Absolute rubbish.

Why don't you name the CEO of every FTSE 100 company then? Oh that's right, you can't. You obviously don't keep up with any form of current affairs yourself then.

Absolute rubbish.

It isn't really. Apples new CEO has been announced several times in several different ways, it has been flashed across loads of online news sources, televised news sources, mentioned on the radio, and spoken about extensively on hundreds of forums and other social & informative sites.

Steve Jobs passing away was absolutely massive news, and the new CEO had massive exposure because of this.

Why would we know who the CEO of most FTSE100 companies is unless they have done something interesting?

If you guys use the internet I genuinely don't know how you can't know who he is. Unless you have read it repeatedly and simply forgotten because you have no interest, which is likely I suppose. :p

This is a tech forum. I'd expect most people to know the leaders of the industry.

Anyone's, least of all Tim Cook's, sexual preferences have nothing whatsoever to do with me or anyone else, so I don't really understand why this is news. In fact until a persons sexuality isn't something to advertise like a badge of honour then bigotry and prejudice with continue. Only when these things are seen as normal and not items for public consumption will such prejudices abate.

And no I didn't know who Tim Cook was simply by his name either. Why would I? My first thought was about the Ice Hockey player.

I can just picture the scenes in the South.

He used gift from God and gay in the same line. LOL

Cue much returning of hateful heathen devices back to the hell hole from whence they are spawned! :p

On a more serious note, this is news why?

Then by your own admission you don't expect everyone to know the leaders of the industry only most. So you shouldn't be surprised that not all of the people on this forum know

What's the problem?

I never was really interested in Apple anyway but after watching Pirates of Silicon Valley i actively avoided them.

Even in his biopic JOBS, the film tried it's best to put Steve Jobs in a sympathetic light but what a complete *******, and no amount of embellishing could remove what in essence is quite a vile man. I'm so glad I never have and never well give that company a single penny.

Unless you're some sort of Apple fanatic I don't see why. Yes it was big news when Steve Jobs died, but that's because he was the founder and head of the company for such a long period of time and built it up with unprecedented success, similar to Bill Gates at Microsoft. This is the only reason people know who Steve Jobs is.

Do you know who the CEO of Intel or Asus is off the top of your head? How about Samsung or LG?

My first thought was who? - I have Apple products but don't need to know who the CEO is, same with my BMW, I couldn't care less who runs the company.

And my second thought was so what?

Who is CEO of google, dell, hp, sun oracle, Intel, AMD, NVidia, Blackberry, Amazon?
I couldn't name one, yet they are the leaders in the tech field.

Off the top of my head... Larry Page, Michael Dell, Meg Whitman, Hurd and Katz, no idea, no idea, no idea, John Chen, Jeff Bezos.

I'm genuinely surprised more people here don't take a keener interest (he says having probably got a few of the above wrong).

"Great men are almost always bad men."

Jobs was an ****hole but I doubt you'll find many successful CEOs who aren't. Tim Cook seems to be geniunely likeable though.
