Ok, Mazda 3 (Happy smiley face one)

What I thought could be a stone in-between the brake shields & disks on the passenger side front is somewhat deluding me now. It sounds like a metal screech.

When I got out of the car I heard it squeak, so I started humping (as you do) the car on each corner, and it would again squeak, and the noise comes from the front passenger side wheel.

Any ideas?

It could be a number of things from damper to bush to ball joint, plus a number of other moving parts.
Only way to be sure is to get under it whilst "humping" it and see where its coming from.

Squeeking could be coming from the strut, top mounts, could be the ball joint on the track rod end. Best bet is to get it in the air and have a poke about.

No not at all :s

If it was me I would jack up the front corner and take off the wheel, try and get the car quite high so the suspension isn't under any load. First place I would look is the track control arm, have a look at the condition and get a pry bar to wiggle it about and see if it squeeks. Use axle stands if you have them or at least put a spare wheel under the car.

This really doesn't sound like it will end well...:p

Lol, yes your right I forgot that common sense doesn't prevail on the internet.

What I should have made clear was whilst either over a pit or up on a lift.

"Humping " was the op's description hence the quotes.

Unfortunately, I do not have a pit, or lift. Just a jack & axle stands. I'll just take this to the garage. I haven't got time to look at this during the day time.

The Mrs will just have to use her legs to get to work in the mean time.

Track rod ball joint is usually knocking when you turn or go over bumps, wouldnt descibe as squeeking, springs maybe?

Belt usually screeches. Stone in disks or disks worn are usually grinding noise

Its exactly like this when moving

But as I said, humping the car ;) causes it to squeak.

Disks or pads i would check. do you know how to take wheels off then pads, check meat on pads, check disks do not need to be replaced, check for any dirt behind pad

Check things like pit holes, major corrosion, rough spots, your pads need to fit flush on the disks. Having ridges when you run your finger down used pads are relatively normal.

I would check for dirt first or small trapped objects

Not sure what everyone else thinks

Iv had my pads and disks worn in the past its been more of a scraping sound which starts off very faint then gets worse as your pads start scoring away at your disks, or your disks are corroded

Just seems strange that it also makes a noise when bumping the suspension.

How long ago were the pads replaced, could be a good idea to drop the brake callipers off drop the pads out and add some copper slip to the back of the pads if it doesn't have some on them already.

Check coil springs aswel as breaks then. I had to change my coil springs on mk4 golf, as they were corroding and old. And squeeked when i bounced car. But the squeek in the vid sounds like breaks

So I got home earlier, with some sunlight still to spare. Turns out the little oik that changed the tyres last used a windy gun on the MCGard key and wrecked it, so I couldn't get the bloody tyre off.

I pressed on, jacked the car up and turned the wheels so I could see behind it. Had a poke around couldn't see anything obvious, but any poke or push would cause a squeak. Spun the wheels and the screech would happen.
It appears that somehow, the disk guard was touching the disk rotor (WTF) so bent it all back in place.
Screeching and squeaking has now all stopped, even when humping the corners of the car.

Still, booked the car in to get these blasted locking nuts removed. Unfortunately, these have a spinning shroud so the reversed thread tool won't work.
