Stuck on building new PC

BTW! I have a "problem" if u can call it so. My 2TB HDD doesn't show up in My computer at all, only the SSD. What did I miss or didn't do?

It does show in Disk manager as Unallocated :|

Just go into disk manager and create a volume on it. Job done :)

Download F6 from here - http://www.gigabyte.com/products/product-page.aspx?pid=4959#bios

Extract/uncompress the folder.

Stick the file called F6 and 8MB in size onto a USB stick leave it plugged in.

Restart the PC.

Enter BIOS.

Select Qflash and enter this.

Choose update from drive.

You should see the USB drive name listed.

Select this.

Then you will see everything stored on this USB drive.

highlight the file called F6 and hit go.

It verify s it is the right one for you and away it goes.

It will restart etc.

As it has now wiped the BIOS, anything you changed before this update is lost.

So set it up again (boot order, XMP for the RAM etc).

-------------------------------------------------------------------

As for the 2TB HDD.

In disk management you see the dark grey shaded bar that is this missing HDD? right click and make a new volume/allocate the space and assign a drive letter.

Woahh, great explanation ! thank you.

Since im doing the partition now, should i next, next, next my way though it or change anything?

EDIT: Nevermind XD I figured it out. I shall go and do the bios now :P

You just need the one file called F6 on its own on the stick.

No folder etc.

The other two files are for DOS flashing.

You did extract the downloaded file?

So you then had a folder with three files in it, you just needed the one that was larger and named F6 put on the drive.

Also try formatting the USB drive back to FAT32 (in my computer right click the drive and select format) as maybe that rufus messed with it.

If F6 is already on the board then good.

Confirm this by looking at a page called MIT in the BIOS

Yep, leave it then.

You can also triple confirm this by downloading CPU-Z.

This has various tabs that tells you the Vcore being used, motherboard model+bios, memory speed etc.

Right :D I downloaaded CPU-Z but is like im reading Chinese for now haha. Want me to screenshot anything and show you since you actually know what's good and bad there ? :D

(check the picture above for the BIOS thing)

Yeah, upload pics of the tabs.

On the tab that shows the CPU data.
If you run say SuperPi which is a single thread application you should see the core speed reported jump to 4.4GHz which is the maximum of your CPU using a single core.

If you use Cinebench R15 it should show 4.2/4.0 I think.

Also watch what the Vcore reported is when under max load.

Your RAM is running at 1600MHz (798.1 x 2), so you've not set XMP profile.

It looks like you have two profiles for your RAM.

So go into BIOS.

Advanced memory section.

Select the right XMP profile (there will be two choices, one 2400 and the other 2133) save + exit.

Then have a look again.

So i will have to go in the bios and select 2400 or 2133 ? (I didn't look yet so it might be a funny question)

You need the

realtek+creative added after.

Intel management engine+INF

Bigfoot LAN, but i see you have that already done as otherwise you cant be using the pc to get online.

Maybe intel rapid storage tech.

Install the marvell SATA driver if you ever use the grey ports.

Nvidia driver from Nvidia.

I finished with the RAM speed thingy, set it on highest profile :P

I installed realtek but since i do not have speakers yet (i use the ones the monitor has.. damn they are awful) everytime i plug my headphones in the front audio jack, the sound keeps going through the monitor, it does detect the headphones but it just doesn't care :D . I had this annoying "problem" with my laptop as well, don't really know how to fix it, i've tried many things but nopee.

I will be installing the drivers you suggested right away :)
