What did you do to your bike today?

Not sure whether I'll have to drop the engine or if I can get away with just a sump removal :(

I once dropped a bolt down an XS11 motor, I cheated getting it back out, took the tank, battery, seat & seat unit off, chucked a hefty blanket on the ground, laid the bike over then tipped it upside down on the blanket, gave the wheels a quick shake & out popped the bolt, sorted. :p

Which is the kinda thing you do when you don't have a magnet & your desperate. :D

Took it out for a couple of hours, Deliberately went into the City to get some City riding praccy in & then came back along the back roads for some fun. Pretty nice day out there if you wrap up well, You can feel the wind has changed though & is now blowing in Winter.
I have switched to my Hein Gerricke gloves now & used them on the long run bringing the bike home, Gloves are lovely, nice & warm but not sweaty, The top part of the glove fits just right over my leather jacket & they do up nice without putting any pressure in one area, A good buy, Can't remember how much they cost me now but I know I got them from Amazon so there must have been a deal on. Think I'll have a look through my history on Amazon & see if I can get another pair.
I find it really hard to get gloves I like that are comfortable & do the job properly, I've an ace set of summer gloves but this is the first set of Winter gloves I'm really happy with.

Bike itself is ace, The more I ride it the more I Love it.

Yesterday I made a start on removing the nasty stickers off of my newly acquired CBR600.

Also had a new pair of winter gloves turn up today. Richa Cold Protect GTX's, they fit lovely, which I wasn't sure about as I'm usually a small but reviews recommended to go a size up.

Weather is gorgeous here so it will be a full on bike day for me, Finishing off a few chores then She's out till dark. :D

Ordered a new Akrapovic underseat exhaust for the ZX6R. Only called up to check some other prices but ended up buying this instead!

Not my vid but same zorst :) pick it up tomorrow and will be fitted as soon as I get back!

Is your model of ZX6R the same as the video, if its the model after have fun with the rear fairings plastics :D complete arse of a job.

Been instructed to send back the ill fitting master link. A new gasket in the post too. I'd like to get out on the road at least once before the end of the year. I'm getting tempted to buy another bike while I fix up my bonnie lol

Had a fair few hours out on the bike today, Did get a bit chilly after a couple of hours but a cuppa T & a fag break & I was ready for another couple of hours. Kinda weird around my way this afternoon it was real quiet, not moaning obviously but it was so quiet me & a mate commented about it.

Bikes starting & running a treat but I did hear off that chap with the starter motor, He' sent it out 55 quid all in so a Bargain, When it comes I'm going to swap it out for the one in then get my old one refurbished & keep it on the shelf in case I need it some time down the line.

Rebuilt the front caliper on the DR over the weekend, new pistons and seals. Couldn't get a good feel on the lever no matter how I bled it, was sucking air in on the master cylinder banjo and also the master cylinder was dead. Swapped pistons and seals over but still didn't work. Put the old master cylinder back on and it works a treat.
Had to alter the new lever to fit but its all good now.

I've also been looking out for some frame covers for the DR but all that come up are either broken or expensive. I did see a DR with ally covers so thought I'd have a go at making some, wasn't gonna take pics but they're not turning out too bad. Will do for the DR anyway!

Got some polyurethane tape which I've put on the back to stop them rubbing against the frame.
Way too late to save the paint but should protect the frame.

Start of that post follows on from this...

Got fed up of replacing broken levers on the DR so looked for some folding ones. Couldn't find any but SV650 ones looked close so bought some from China for the pricey sum of £18 delivered!

I want to keep the standard DR master cylinder and clutch perch as I still have spare DR levers and its less spares to carry when off roading.

First was the clutch as I broke it last outing.
Levers aren't too different.

Just required a little cut off

Easy!

As that was nice and easy I didn't expect the brake to be that bad. It was...
Was too thick, the part the pushed on the piston was too big and too long, the part that pushes the brake light switch was too long and too big, plus there was too much material on the inside of the pivot.

Took a little while but it fits now

Had to swap master cylinders but I now have adjustable and folding levers on the DR, should hopefully save breakages...

Fitted a Pugi fly screen to my YBR, tried to fit a set of mirrors but it appears the previous owner has made a proper mess of the thread on the right hand holder which is the one built into the lever by the looks of it rather than the left that would be a quick switch!

Well it's definitely coming out again today, Weathers unreal here, Only about 10c but as dry as a bone & bright & clear.
Think I'll go out for a bimble then come back for a bit of cleaning.

Just checked the battery on the Tiger, not that I expected it to be anything other than good (and it was), since it's been sat for nearly 3 weeks.

The tablets I'm on seem to be working so I plan on riding my bike tomorrow and I'm really looking forward to it.

Fitted a set of tucano urbano neoprene muffs last night, first run into work with them this morning, lovely warm hands!

Can't beat sticking your hand into a nice warm furry muff in the morning! :D

Picking up the bike now from garage, I got a big nail in the back tyre:(
All well I like new tyres:D

Edit: £156 I like new tyres but not that much.
