What did you do to your bike today?

Do you work nights?

Yes mate & I've got it right down to 3 nights a week now, I do Friday Saturday & Sunday nights so I get extra bunce for weekends/nights/unsociable & on top of that midnight Saturday I am on Sunday bubble as well. :p
This gives me just enough to live on but untold hours to my self, I am also a bit handy so earn elsewhere.

Was out for at least 4 hours today, Epic weather.

Yeah it's a good trade of if you can cope with shift work. You certainly get the best road conditions because most people are at work. I suppose you're main obstacles are OAPs :p

that brake mod just looks like an accident waiting to happen .. pull to hard... yer ground down tab breaks and your on a one way trip to a&e

Washed the CBR600 yesterday for the first time, albeit quickly.

Today I thoroughly cleaned the chain (finding out it's a DID X-ring :D ) and re-lubricated it. Also found out that it has a full S/S exhaust system! Not sure what brand the downpipe is.

I assume you're on about mine?
The tab is just for the brake light switch, the big knuckle at the top pushes the piston on the master cylinder. If anything there's more material left on the folding levers than the standard DR ones.

Yup.. and my bad... pit mouth into action before i engaged brain

It's weird , some days the roads seem empty but other days it seems like everybody in the country is off work that day & are out for a joy ride like me.
Best thing from my point of view is I can take advantage of any decent weather, Worst thing I s'pose is All my mates are at work so most of my riding is done alone.

If you had to swap master cylinders, why not just fit an SV650 master cylinder (naked version) so the lever would have fitted straight in?

Both were DR masters using the same lever. Just one had more clearance around it as it was off the dirt model making it easier to fit the lever to.

I don't have any motorbike friends. Forever alone.

Mine have all grown up  Those that do have bikes have them in the shed/garage in varying states of repair.
I've joined a few Bike clubs & go to a few local/weekly meets but I could still do with just 1 mate who is into riding as much as me. I've been nagging my mate Stew to get his Duke on the road all ******** year. + :p

Got that new/spare Starter motor today, Best packing ever, I'd asked them to pack it in a way that protected the terminal that sticks out the side waiting to be knocked off. Bloke said his missus (Cindy) would sort it. Starter was in a box well packed out but she has stuck a plastic box/container over the terminal proper protecting it.
Shame it was from a source with No Feedback option or I'd leave them some blinding feedback.

I am going to fit the new starter, For one it'll need testing & secondly I don't want to wait until this one lets me down or causes issues elsewhere.

Yeah I much prefer solo riding now or with 1 mate who I know wont be an idiot, too much mob mentality happens with groups of bikers and it all goes wrong :p

I like riding on my own though, sometimes you do silly things in a group

like night time riding aswell

I ride alone and always have done, the one exception to that is with my son as he has just started riding so I like to see he is still staying safe.

To me owning a bike is just a different way of getting about, I dont know what I am supposed to get from riding in a group of other people riding.

Like wise, i'm quite capable of getting myself in bother all on my own, add some subconscious peer pressure into the mix & things can get messy real quickly, & sadly getting older hasn't tempered my ability to behave like an ass at times, just given me a list of ready exscuses. ( male menopause, second childhood, early senility etc ) :D

I'm well happy riding alone but it would be nice to have a mate come out for a spin every now & again.

On another note didn't mob mentality take over on one of the OcUK meets, I weren't there but I remember the vid of the bloke out braking himself & then tuther Dude pulling out without looking right & was nearly wiped out by a Clio. Anybody remember ?
