Will UKIP win its first seat in parliament tonight?

V0n, that's a great post and i will answer it properly and fully in due coarse as it richly deserves it, it's just refreshing to someone to debate properly instead of resorting to childish name calling and throwing around labels, and on that applaud you.

How's this post coming along? I imagine quite a few of us are keen to hear your response to each point.

The economist who predicted that opening UK borders to 10 new EU countries in 2004 would increase the population by 13,000 a year has accused MPs of misinterpreting his figures.

Politicians have said the forecast was "spectacularly wrong" and "laughable".

But Prof Christian Dustmann believes none can have read his 2003 report.

He said it made clear immigration would be much higher if, as happened, Germany and other countries decided to curb access to their labour markets.

He told the BBC that at the time he was compiling the report, which was commissioned by the Home Office, "everybody expected" that "other countries, in particular Germany, would likewise open up their labour markets".

Although some Conservative MPs voiced fears when the report was published in June 2003 that Germany would seek to impose restrictions - and called for the UK to do likewise - Germany did not confirm its plans with the European Commission until November 2003.

When you finally get that threesome with Michael Cera and Justin Timberlake you've been after. Have they returned your calls?

On the other subject, even if we take the best estimates of 20bn over 10years, that's only 2bn per year. Where's the net cost of us being in the EU is almost 9bn. Also, people seem to be missing the point that the tax paying immigrates are usually skilled. Under a points based system a vast majority of the immigrated that are contributing to the economy will be welcomed with open arms.

I've got a feeling we won't be seeing a reply to those points any-time soon mags.

http://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/ukn...ion-from-outside-Europe-cost-120-billion.html

Since 1995:
  • Immigrants from outside Europe cost £120bn
  • Immigrants from within Europe contributed 4.4Bn
  • British citizens had a net cost of £591bn

So why the heck is anyone who is not racists at all concerned about any kind of migration?
.

err those numbers are terrifying?

about 70 million British people cost about 591billion

<5million immigrants from outside the EU cost 120 billion?

That is a staggering difference.

Even immigrants from outside Europe are less costly than British Citizens over the same period while European immigrants are net contributors unlike British citizens!

because there's tens of millions of more British people maybe?

Or were you seriously comparing a very small number of immigrants to a massive number of natives?

Not sure what you highlighted, i didn't call him a tart or anything
Making childish comments & yet still managing to avoid replying to any of the points raised.

You ask for people to debate with UKIP voters with a degree of respect as opposed to just calling them idiots, but when somebody does write a well thought out reply none of your ilk spend the time to write a reply worth anything.

This to me gives the impression that the position the average UKIP voter has is in-fact not one based on reason (due to their inability to defend their position) but irrational fear, misunderstandings or in some cases bigotry & xenophobia.

Seems that way.

yawn, back to the same old responses, get a new record

Where is you counter argument to the excellent, logical and rational post that v0n made? I've not seen it.

You will probably have less consumer rights and less internet freedoms if you leave the EU. There have been a few unheard of but landmark cases where the UK has been brow beaten over its attempts to troll the consumer.

leaving the EU is potentially a de-regulation wild west where government's hand over their citizens rights to globalist corporations. Right now the country is at least pulling itself out of recession.

It might be interesting to see what state the country is in and where the likes of those people on this thread in 10 years. You wont be able to blame the EU anymore and so what would be the next logical step, Which demographic of people should we blame in our blame culture should it prove to be a dumb move ?

Clearly the blame would lay at the politians door if it were to fail upon leaving the EU. I don't think we have any politians capable of running an independant country. Not that I even want to leave.

You go on as if we've been in the EU since day one. We do no more trade with Europe now then before we joined the EU.

I can remember the UK before the EU. No criminal's from Europe got in here like they can now.

Now=Hello sir I'm a mass murder can I come in...of coarse you can, and have a have a cup of tea.
Before= I'm a mass murderer can I come in? Not a chance in hell. Go away.

What makes criminals from the EU worse than ours?

WHAT. Can't believe you posted that. Is it school holidays already?

I'm unsure if your making reference to me being a child or the sad murder of Alice gross. Either way it was a valid query. EDIT: appears they have conclusive evidence he was there.

Why would a murderer from Poland be worse than one from the UK?

I think it's been pointed out enough, people who don't want to listen won't listen.
