Dragon Age Inquisition Performance Benchmarks

Ouch looking at them its going to suck at 3440x1440. Matt...Make sure Crossfire works on this :D hardly any of the new Games recently work properly with it out of the box and it takes forever for a profile.

Of course this is on maximum settings, and this is a game that favours AMD anyway.

Not all bad for Nvidia though, the 770 holds up well here and beats the equally priced 280X.

What stands out though is the 290, remember it's a good 20% cheaper than a 970 too.

I have 2 290s, so I anticipate deliciously smooth 60fps solid. But that is assuming the profile is ready for release. Otherwise high 50s (bleh).

I knew it was a good idea going team red with Mantle as most games I want to play are frostbite.

290 faster than a 980, now that is surprising.

GTX 980 can't even break 60fps at 1080p

wat?

In fairness neither can a 290X using Mantle.

Makes me wonder if even Matt and Kaap will be able to max this at 4K (ignoring the possibility of VRAM issues).

Unfortunately I have to agree with Neil79 in that I can't remember the last decent BioWare game I played. Probably the original Mass Effect.

Tried the first DA, didn't really get on with it.

As for not buying a game because it has Mantle, well some people buy a game because it has Mantle so I don't see much difference. I buy games based on if I think I'll like them, but if people want to buy based on whether or not it has a certain API then that's up to them and they're free to choose what games they buy as they see fit.

P.S. The unfortunate part about agreeing with Neil79 was that BioWare don't seem to make games with the quality they used to, but they still hype them as much. It's not unfortunate that I have to agree with Neil79 in general.

Has anyone noticed it says the game is the retail steam version?

There are three possibilities: 1 they didn't bother to change the text/forgot to, 2. The graph is fake, 3. EA have decided to release on steam. All fairly unlikely, but I'm leaning towards 1 or 2.

Mass Effect 2 was a fantastic game and it had the reviews to match. Mass Effect 3 was still a great game but had to contend with the expectations of many fans. Even SWTOR is a fun game especially with the content added after release and it was the cost of the voice acting which really did not help(other companies would have not bothered to spend so much money). TBH,Bioware have not done a "bad" game for years. Not really bothered with the DA games myself but I know people who really like them and are looking forward to this one.

Didn't Dragon Age 2 largely get 8 and 9s too, with a few 7s and 3/5s?

In fairness I said games that I've played and I've not played Mass Effect 2 or 3 yet (got quite backlog). I suppose SWTOR was ok for a little while. After level capping 4 (or was it 5) characters though it all got a bit dull and repetitive. Well actually it got a bit dull and repetitive before that but I kept playing while my friends did.

To be fair I eventually grew to love Dragon Age 2, it does get better late on but it is weaker than the first game.

However since then we've had Skyrim and the sensational Witcher 2 so I'm not surprised that third time round we've got a better game.

I think of Bioware as the Pixar of gaming, in more ways than one.

Yeah, they both lost their way a bit after being bought out by a bigger corp.

DA:I looks like Bioware are heading back in the right direction though going by the videos I've seen of it so far.
Which can only mean good things for the next Mass Effect :)

Hey guys I haven't been around these past few days , Im deep in a pile of X with these benchmarks currently doing AC Unity.

I know that the game releases on the 18th with FarCry4 (lord help me) and we will probably have optimised drivers and a patch or two , but does AMDMatt or someone else know any commands to run mantle ?

Is there a in-game tool or do we run a cmd ?
