England's World Cup Bid corrupt, Russia, Qatar OK say FIFA

To be fair, they weren't official Russian emails, they were volunteer emails who sent themselves while on leave. This also applies to any alleged bribes, as any money that passed into FIFA official's bank accounts from Russia did so voluntarily and without support from the Kremlin :D

:D

Lol hazardo, indeed, but the issue with muhhamed bin haman who they did get rid of is basically the exact same, they claim all his bribery and the packets full of miney he was giving to people was to further his own cause, and not sanctioned by the qatar bid.
Sooner countries decide to join a new organisation called notfifa the better, without countries there is no support, and the organisation dies dead.

You wouldn't expect anything different from a organization run my mostly Europeans.

The EU is the most corrupt place on earth.

Ever heard of the "Golden Rule"? Whoever has the gold, makes the rules. This is more prevalent in American society (and to a point, although they are catching up) with British society.

Its astonishing to think that a supposedly non profit organization can change the laws of a country amongst other things.

There's corruption in all countries, didn't we recently make some dodgy deal with Germany not to bid against them for a tournament if they let us host some final? if that's not corrupting the bidding process I don't know what is.

However, if all this fuss leads to the FA boycotting FIFA's winter World Cup I'll be delighted.

They can't, they can only put pressure on governments to change the laws if they want to host the world cup - their "product". Basically hold your elected representatives responsible if you don't like the laws - if you're lucky enough to live in a country with elected representatives that is.

That was for the UEFA European Championship matches. I don't really see how this agreement could be considered corrupt?

So basically FIFA have manipulated the findings completely. It may have worked had they just stated there was no corruption. People still wouldn't believe them, but things would move on. Instead they've gone too far the other way and claimed everyone else except the accused are corrupt.

Fantastic work FIFA. Really well done.

I wonder whether professional charges could be raised against the German judge if people were able to demonstrate he had wilfully misrepresented information.

I'm not sure it's become untenable. Many countries don't give a rats **** about corruption, and they don't stand a chance of bidding for a World Cup. They profit from corruption and blatter keeps his job. Why is that untenable.

Blatter has nothing to lose and everything to gain. Even if the corruption was proven. Blatter wouldn't face any punishment.

The system is corrupt by design.

I don't see that as a green light for the current status quo to continue. It must be tackled and the head if the snake taken off starting with Blatter.

Does anyone really care about International football anymore? Let's just disband the national team, it's not like it really serves a purpose anyway, and it would solve the issue of all of these tedious international breaks.

On top of that maybe if we took the drastic measure of saying "We've decided not to play in the World Cup in Qatar because your record on human rights is comparable to that of the Daleks." then perhaps other Countries might pile on some pressure of their own.

Is anything likely to come of this or will it just blow over? FIFA changing the report to the complete contrary to what Garcia's investigation found surely can't just be forgotten about.

FIFA and Blatter have been able to ride out scandals in the past but eventually something will have to give like it did for the IOC after the Salt Lake City scandal. Hopefully this will be the catalyst for similar change at FIFA but I wouldn't bet my house on it. Remember that they're based in Switzerland where strict secrecy laws make obtaining courtroom quality evidence of corruption very, very difficult.
