Second hand Graphics Card

Hey im thinking of trying to buy a second hand graphics card as my pc is getting to old right now my specs is q6600 6gigs ram 5850

my budget is around £150 what card should i look out for for that price

£150 will easily get you a used GTX770 or 280X. I have seen a 290 go for that but only the once

I'd stick with the 5850, anything faster is likely to bottleneck on the CPU.

It won't be long before £150 is the standard price for second hand 290's. Reference 290's usually go for that.

How old is it? What exact model? Sounds like it should be just fine, but just in case

What case do you have? The Gigabyte 280X is quite a long GFX card

For a 280X not 290.

But what about the case? will it take a large card?

the case is massive some big old bugger heavy also it was my brothers he bought from overclockers along time ago so should fit most things

Check it can take a 280-310mm card.

Not the R9 290 mentioned before, a poor suggestion as its a reference model so hot (90c+) and loud (really loud).

This is pretty much perfect, has a 90 day OcUK warranty and probably Gigabyte warranty after that
