England's World Cup Bid corrupt, Russia, Qatar OK say FIFA

Hopefully the report will be leaked in full. It will be interesting to see how much it differs from FIFA's official summary...

On top of that maybe if we took the drastic measure of saying "We've decided not to play in the World Cup in Qatar because your record on human rights is comparable to that of the Daleks." then perhaps other Countries might pile on some pressure of their own.

I'm sure they will.

Why not be the ones to make the break away? At least this way we can hold some actual power in the new organisation.

FIFA are probably right now deciding which ones will fall on their sword and how much it will cost the others for the privilege.

Then release a statement saying 'told you we would do something' and Blatter is once again a hero

Bet it will be against the whistleblowers knowing them.

Aussie bid apparently gave Warner $500k for a 'Football Aid' project in the run-up. The monies were later found to be 'just resting in his account'.

From FIFA:

Following the statement issued by the chairman of the adjudicatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee, Hans-Joachim Eckert, on the report by the chairman and deputy chairman of the investigatory chamber, Judge Eckert has recommended to the FIFA President – in line with the FIFA Code of Ethics – that a criminal complaint be lodged with the Office of the Attorney General of Switzerland in Berne.

This criminal complaint has been lodged today. The subject of the criminal complaint is the possible misconduct of individual persons in connection with the awarding of the hosting rights of the 2018 and 2022 World Cups investigated by Michael Garcia, chairman of the investigatory chamber of the FIFA Ethics Committee.

In particular there seem to be grounds for suspicion that, in isolated cases, international transfers of assets with connections to Switzerland took place, which merit examination by the criminal prosecution authorities.

The reports compiled by Michael Garcia and Cornel Borbély will be made available to the Office of the Attorney General via Hans-Joachim Eckert.

Unlike FIFA’s bodies, the Swiss criminal prosecution authorities have the ability to conduct investigations under application of criminal procedural coercive measures.

I hope this course of action backfires spectacularly on FIFA and, in the course of their investigation, results in the Swiss courts finding out all about FIFA's corrupt practices

At the end of the day folks, it IS only football.
If you got as enraged about stuff that actually matters it would be super helpful.

Flippant, yes. Sorry, but it's also quite true.
