FarCry 4 bad framerate on 290x

Did I say it was a gpu problem? It was aimed at the guy above saying nvidia is fine and only amd is having issues.

They be very wrong.

Did he say you did? Stop trying to think, as you end up looking a bit silly. He is just saying it is a game problem and not GPU dependent.

Sorry boss, won't happen again.

He basically thought my message was a dig towards nvidia. When really it was showing just like amd, nvidia is also having issues.

Something I already know.

Very disappointed and was hoping UBI would learn from previous mistakes but seems not. Neither AMD or nVidia are having a good time in this game with SLI/CF and really should be better from such a AAA game. I can see me putting some play time in this game but it needs to be better before I give it my spare time.

Completely agree!
If they don't fix these two games then us pc gamers all need to stand together with our wallets and say no to buying another game from them.. Will they listen then, dam right they will.

They can't keep doing this.

Already did that, I did not buy it as i knew this would be buggy, Like bf5 will be among other to be released games.

Maybe when it's patched a few more times and reduced a fare bit I will get it, But it has co-op arghhh must resist

Yeah, if it wasn't for Xmas present I wouldn't bought it myself, but in saying that guys in my teamspeak last night sounded like they was having loads fun. Seems to be running fine for them two also, both amd users.
I not had time to test it out properly but in short time I had with old drivers it was stuttering.

With respect to dice it as only been bf4, past battlefield games have been fine.

The game works quite well on my 7950 (around 45-60fps) at 1080p ultra settings with only lighting and shadows turned down to very high. The new patch and AMD drivers make quite a difference. There is stutter when you pan left and right though.

Only the fur seems like it isn't working properly. The effect looks like vibrating pixels.

I got a nvidia code for £20 elsewhere and was going to use it for FC4, I've ended up just selling it on. Even if it did work flawlessly I rarely get engrossed in singleplayer games any more. Hopefully performance gets sorted for those who want to play it.

Very happy with performance here so far... But I do get the frame stutter explained here by TotalBiscuit

Seems what he saying about the single CPU core maxing out could very well be true.
Here a screenshot of mine, frame rate dont drop for me though when this happens.

I also notice horrible mouse movement, I sure FC3 wasn't like this but it feels strange.

Some screenshots i7 2600k @4.4 with one 290 @977/1250, Maxed out with smaa

i'll leave this for now and see if they patch it. and Crossfire soon should give a nice boost in frame rate.

I don't think this is just an AMD issue. I have sli'd 780ti's and even though it's over 60fps it still stutters badly. Turn of AA and it jumps up a few fps but the stutter disappears. This is at 2560 on Nvidia settings. Not convinced by the game as yet anyway and drives me mad that I had to unplug my Razer keypad thing to get it to run at all. Shoddy coding as usual.

This smacks of watchdogs, point the finger at nvidia for poor amd performance when nvidia was affected just the same. No-one has learnt from that.... in this thread there's very similar comments made.
