Seat dealer stole my engine cover?

If this is still open I highly suggest calling Seat CS. I've had to call them a couple of times regarding a particular garage and they have been fortunate enough to get good responses out of them.

Liverpool innit :p

Is it a Stereotype if even Scousers say that ?

I night trunked to our Liverpool depot and as was low on fuel (our depots bowsers were out of action) I topped up whilst there. I stuck the tacho on break to get a "15" in whilst it was doing that and left the ignition on (engine OFF) so I could easily read when "15" was up.

I then walked to the office to see about getting a bay and the Super walked back with me to the truck. When I opened the door and he saw the keys in the ignition he was totally exasperated.

"This is Liverpool mate.. LIVERPOOL ... You can't do that around here.. You just Can't".

"huh".. Ok.. /Shrugs shoulders !

So yeah.. I'd say the garage BROKE his engine cover and are making out it never had one on when he dropped the car off.

Personally, I wouldn't have left if I'd been told a part of my car was missing :p

Does this not just apply to companies and not private individuals?

The company (garage) would be giving the waste to an unlicensed carrier (The owner)

I know how bizarre this seems given that the "Waste" belonged to the owner in the first place, but I am sure that this is how it would be regarded

er... yes it is theft. I had an item, someone took that item off me without my consent and kept it for themselves.

Theft is a legal term, just because the cover is gone doesn't mean it's theft. If you want to use terminology such as theft you really should be fully aware of what it entails.

OP appears to be ignoring this thread now...

Is it because he has realised that the engine cover was always attached to his engine, he just hadn't realised it was there!

On a serious note, the VAG engine covers are an absolute pain to take off (those ball sockets) without breaking them and are very expensive. Two excellent reasons why your engine cover never returned after your service!

Having dealt with many VAG services in the past, I would not be at all surprised if they have 'stolen' it to fit to another car or sell on.
