Is my SSD dying?

Hi guys,

As above, my system keeps hanging while in use - left idle over night etc, it appears fine. I can either get a complete freeze or a partial freeze as in I can momentarily use the Start button/show desktop, my tower's hard activity LED usually remains constantly on during this or completely off. Eventually, after 5 minutes or so my system comes round. This behaviour is getting more frequent :(

I also get the usual 'Not Responding' warning in all of my windows/browsers.

The drive is about 18 months old and I think still covered under the Samsung warranty. Is there anything I can test to definitively prove the fault before starting an RMA.

Thanks.

Not sure if SSDlife etc will show a fault in all cases, pretty sure Samsung have their own software for this.

Thanks mate, I'll have a look around!

I've just checked my invoices and it was 2012 I bought it

Should still be covered though, right? I seem to recall a 3 year warranty...

No, doesn't look like there is any 'Samsung' test software for it... who do I approach first for the RMA; Samsung or the retailer? I've sent drives back to Samsung before but I don't remember who I approached first :)

tried backing it up and secure erasing the drive then restore the data? might help things

also checked for any viruses that might be slowing down your pc?
