What did you do to your bike today?

Followed a gritter home. Mixed generally annoyed emotions!

When I see a gritter that's when I'm putting the bike away for a bit, Frost everywhere this morning so it won't be long. :(

Think I've got an old Diesel van being dropped off this evening, If it turns up I'll use that for a bit.

Topped up the WR450F with oil yesteday. It wasn't starting, or when it did it would then cut out. I looked for a window to check but couldn't see one? Put half a litre in and it started perfectly. How should I be checking the oil on it?

Also fitted a RAM Mount so I can move my TomTom over from my road bike, to make sure I can get home once I've been out exploring.

If it doesn't have a window or a little dipstick then the only accurate way you'll be able to do it is drain it & measure out the right amount to put back in.
I cannot believe there isn't a way of checking the oil though so look harder.

Just did a Google for you & apparently you have a Check bolt, You remove this & fill the oil until it comes out the check hole.
Do some reading about yourself to make 100% sure I'm right.

Changed the front sprocket on the varadero, it was well worn and I've gone up a tooth to help with the higher speed cruising on the motorway, 14t to 15t. 75mph is now 11k rpm and with a little assistance I was sitting at 80 (indicated) just below the redline of 12k rpm.

Changed the oil and filter too, the oil was black!! So probably well overdue a change :D

Tomorrow's job is front brake pads - I've bought the rears too but it requires the wheel to be taken off and I don't have a centre stand, or a paddock stand :(

Any one recommended a cheapish paddock stand which can have either the swingarm cups or the bobbin forks? My vara doesn't have the holes for bobbins but my next bike will have bobbins fitted so I need both. The Oxford ones have fittings for both I see, any others?

Sounds right - same on my TM

Front and rear brake pads changed today, adjusted the rear brake light switch (had to put a fair amount of pressure on the pedal before to make it come on) and got a bonus of having the bump start the bike after the battery died :D luckily we live on a slight hill so was easy, just a bit of waddling needed.

Was going to take it out, went through the rigmarole of unshackling it and getting it out the lock up.
Just as i got it turned round and geared up it started to rain so locked it back up.

Enjoy! I see you are local, where are you trying it, 3X or the Triumph dealer in Portsmouth?

Going to the Fareham one. Its going to be a brand spanking new bike as well as thier last bike was "cosmetically modified by a car". They are running this bike in at the moment after getting it regiestered on Monday

Took it out for a run today to do some chores, Saw quite a few other bikes out today as well, Everybody taking advantage of the lovely day.
