'm just about to pull the trigger on new SSD array. TLC stuff is out of question, just because it's TLC and we still don't know if the issue from 840 Evo is just Evo limited or TLC bug (as standard 840 SSDs also show up with some problems).

I've two choices - 850 Pro 2x512: the fastest, the best and so on. Cost though it's 2500 PLN (470 pounds) and 2x512 MX100 - 1600 PLN - 300 quids. My PC is mostly for gaming, along with text editing - I don't encode blurays or do any coding.

10 years warranty is not an issue, because I believe that in 3 years time the current SSDs will become obsolete, and we will see surge of M2/SATA Express drives.

I'm more bend on getting the MX100 array, as I doubt the speed difference will be noticeable and worth 170 pounds more. Or will it?

I think you should get the MX100. I believe the 850 pro is marketed at professionals and since your said your PC is mostly for gaming I think you would be better off going for the cheaper option.

just get the mx100,perfectly capable drive

the 850 pro is way overpriced, same goes for the 840 pro

its expensive due to using longer lasting mlc nand probably but tbh tlc nand should last you 10 years+ anyway

I snagged a 512 crucial mx100 in the lightning deal so I'm chuffed to bits with that. I wish ocuk had their deals up earlier to be honest.

Glad I found this thread. I was contemplating going for the Samsung 850 PRO, but looking at comments in here, I might pull the trigger on the Crucial MX100 instead. Guy in my office will be happy too, has shares.

One thing: I plan on backing up all my blu-rays to my PC (since that's legal now). Guess I won't see much of a performance difference when encoding to the Crucial vs the Samsung?

had a faster 120gb ssd before a recent upgrade to a 250gb crucial. honestly can't say i've seen much of a speed change at all. perfectly good drive.

Thanks guys... going for pair of MXes - would be considering 850 Evo, but the pricing is ewwww and 1TB would have 60 pounds difference over MXes.

Still not sure babout RAID0 though, read some tests and heard some opinions saying, that it won't be different than two drives in single mode. THough some other tests and opinions say otherwise.

Guess I just read too much of data :P
