**** Sony Xperia Z3 ****

Cheers Dude, battery life is certainly up there.

At least you have many backup phones to chose from. What's your daily driver? Have you tried Lollipop yet?
 
Same here. I can't think of another phone I'd rather have right now. There are plenty of amazing phones out there too but the Z3 ticks all the correct boxes for how I use a smartphone.

Roll on Feb/March to see what the Z4 offers.

As I paid £430 for the Z3 I should make a large chunk of that back quite easily come mid next year and the Z4 is out.

Had some unexpected bills crop up so had to part with the Note 4 for a bit, I was planning on getting one again but it was OOS everywhere and the Z3 caught my eye in store, and I just had to switch. I never thought I'd switch from Samsung either but damn this phone is awesome.

Luckily its at the bottom of the screen in the black area so its not affecting touch screen currently.

Was lucky and found a manager in a store willing to take pity on me, got no where with 3 other stores and through the call centres :mad: So have a new black Z3, in a case-mate tough with a tempered glass screen and full insurance, touch wood its been fine so far. Don't put it on the charger thou when I get in now. I let it warm up a bit first !

Fingers crossed. :cool:
 
Picked mine up yesterday - new phone on a 4G contract with much more data than I'm used to (4GB) - struggling to gel with the phone at the moment though, as I came from an unlocked and rooted Nexus 4; something I tweaked to my exact preferences... the out of the box Z3 just isn't what I hoped tbh.

Off the top of my head, and it's only a short list (only had it a day!):

DPI settings - I NEED to tweak these, I think it's laughable on such a huge screen, you get equally massive text and buttons - I'm not an 80 year old with dodgey eyes and gammy hands; need to reduce this setting asap - though it needs a root.

Unable to do anything (?) with a mounted SD card and third part file manager - apparently it's a known issue, but I've never seen it on my tablets with SD cards, and the Nexus had internal memory only - so presently my favorite file manager (ES) has been relegated and I have to use some pap that came on the phone.

That's it for now, I'm off to read up on the rooting side for the Z3, will have to weigh up my desires (tweak phone) with the implications the root has (losing the DRM stuff)...
 
Hmmm, I was about to post that I was reviewing whether to change my N4 for the Z3 but that doesn't sound good. I want to move to a better battery life (tick for the Z3 there). Wasn't sure how well the Z3 did with the camera - I recall there was talk about a red or was it yellow dot appearing in images?
