Hi guys. Sorry for jumping onto this feed like this. I am new to this forum and would like some help on building my first gaming PC. I've got two options in mind that I can afford.
The system will be used for gaming and content creation (youtube/Photo blog)

GPU: GTX 970 G1 Gaming
RAM: Corsair Vengeance DDR3 16gb 1866mhz
Cooler: Corsair H100i
SSD: Crucial 512gb
HDD: WD 1tb
PSU: Corsair HX 850 Platinum
Chasis: Corsair 450D
OD: Samsung DvD writer
(£1300)

2nd: X99 build
Mobo: MSI x99 SLI plus
CPU: i7 5820k
GPU: GTX 970 G1 Gaming
RAM: G skills 16gb 2400mhz
Cooler: Corsair H100i
SSD: Crucial 512gb
HDD: WD 1tb
PSU: Corsair HX 850 Platinum
Chasis: Corsair 450D
OD: Samsung DvD writer
(£1400)

Please Help me out!!

Welcome to the forum,

If it's just for gaming then the Z97 is the better choice, it's faster clock for clock and cheaper. You mention content creation, will you be making videos?

Z97 - £300 cheaper than you've spec'd.

What res will you be playing at? Agree with ThaReaperGuy here, for gaming Z97 will be faster

This already beats your Z97 build, with a bigger HDD better cooler, better RAM, better PSU etc
Quite overkill though, it could be much cheaper and a similar price
16GB RAM for video creation, it will be definitely useful for editing and rendering

about £80 of this is just bling etc, so you could easily get buy without the cables, LED strip and dropping to the Enthoo Pro

Thanks for the reply. Yes I will be making videos for my youtube channel. I just thought since there wasn't much of a difference between the two it will be better to go for the x99. Nice build by the way. That Gigabyte deal is quiet enticing.

Well if you are making videos etc then that is a reason for X99, if its mainly gaming then Z97.

Apologies for the multiple threads. I'm still getting used to the forum. I will be using a 1080p monitor for but with plans to upgrade in the near future (including SLI). Your build has a UD3H, yet you said it beats the one I was considering. I don't know much about PSU's so if you recommend Super Flower I trust it is decent and worth considering. My major concern though is if the Z97 build will last for a long time and will cope with content creation. Thanks for the help.

Superflower are excellent psu's, hence you see them being reccomended often on spec threads here.

Yeah. My aim is to create great videos and photos for my youtube channel and blog.

Well it does sound like you want X99 then.

I could also make a good argument for getting a silenced case and a top quality Noctua cooler,

Wow! This is great. How do I get the £65 discount? By the way I've already gotten the following when the BF deals started:

Crucial 512 @ £120
WD 1tb @ £45
Samsung Dvd @ £13

Because you can also get 32GB of RAM (if you have a suitable operating system).

The ASUS GFX card (so does the MSI) run passive at idle making them both even quieter.

The case says out of stock but it is at OcUK ready to be booked in.
