Do something nice this Christmas

Whilst the sentiment behind this is good, it's a pretty tragic society we live in where you have to post your good deeds on Youtube. What happened to just helping people out and not needing recognition?

If this was intended to help encourage others to do the same, then you might've put a bit more effort into it, instead of just filming something people do every single day all over the world and seeking recognition on social media for it.

No trying to be a stick in the mud, I can appreciate what you've done and what I'm addressing isn't aimed at you but rather society as a whole.

it's all good for being nice
Any Considerations made for the expectation of privacy
The man could be On The Run/witness protection or just avoiding his 10 kids

I bought a homeless guy a pie and a coffee before, cheeky bugger bit into the pie and binned it and started swearing at me because it was a steak pie and not vegetarian. Ungrateful knob didn't even bother to offer it to his scrawny looking dog before binning it either. Didn't bother to film it though. With hindsight being 20/20 I wish I had.

Sod 'em!

I saw a Woman in town a few years back buy a guy a sandwich, he gave it her back and asked for the money instead :D

He's encouraging others to spend 10 minutes of their day to improve someone's life drastically.

Well....he's not... :o
Blowing your own trumpet because you spent £10 and 5 mins to help some homeless guy out.

Why is it everyone feels the need to shout loudly when they've done something 'good' unless of course you're doing it not to help others out but for up votes.
Help out, sure.

How many people have you met that have never heard nor come across a homeless person?

I haven't met any.

You're not raising awareness as much as you are being arrogant and patronising both to an unfortunate man twice your age who you "feel sorry for" and to the rest of us.

Charity is good, yes, but recording yourself is not the best way to go about it.

So what I've done is bad??

What harm has me posting the video done? Please answer that!!!

It's inspired quite a few people.

My uncle is a fruit cake in and out of prison and mental wards and does this for a living. Last year he let me know he made about 2 grand a month pretending to be homeless so now im a total cynical git and only give to those in out the way places not looking for all the tourists.

I'm working Christmas Day and Boxing Day giving insulin, refilling syringe drivers etc to housebound elderly patients! Think my good deed for this Xmas is done.

What kind of thing does he do? Is he one of those guys that harasses you on the train saying they need a quid to get home, or does he look homeless and sit in a blanket in the street?

Film it, and post threads linking to your deeds.
Otherwise, what's the point in doing it without people telling you you're doing a good job...

Maybe you could have asked his name and addressed him by it!
The 30 seconds were you gave him the clothes was good, well done you. The rest of the video was utter bull **** and made me feel uneasy watching.

Call me cynical but i would like to see a video of the "homeless guy" wearing those clothes and not passed out drunk after selling them.
