and not prosecute the McCann's?

Of course, does that mean if your child goes missing in another country you get away with it?

Different countries, I fail to understand how you don't know that different countries have their own rules & laws.
Their not Portuguese though are they, or are you saying if you're a UK parent and your leave you children unattended and out of site while you're having a night out there should be no recourse for those actions in the UK?
If I got into a fight while in Portugal but the Police let me go then I can't see a reason why the Police should have me back in England.
Sometimes it is the opposite way round - in England if I was found to have a spliff the Police wouldn't do anything but if I was in Saudi I'd be locked away for a few years.
If you ask me do I think they should be held accountable for leaving them home alone then hell yeah but Portugal are weak.
I'd be interested to know if Portugal have changed their laws because of this incident?

The difference though is that the state is accountable and responsible for the care, safety and welfare of British minors.
I'm not disagreeing because I don't know but are you saying Britain has a responsibility for British kids care, safety & welfare in foreign countries?
Send Liam Neeson. I hear he has experience
