ISIS and Islamic militants - discussion

Islamic terrorist have done so already and are still actively trying to carry out terrorist attacks... there have been plenty of arrests recently - the most recent plot concerned remembrance Sunday - only a week ago...

Your point about communists is rather irrelevant, ISIS fighters/supporters have already stated their intention to carry out attacks. There is a real threat there not just some idealistic chat about 'revolution'.

You cannot lump all attacks into a homogeneous title of Islamic terrorist. There are many different strains and sometimes they will attack each other(a bit like the strands of communists in Spanish war).

As far as alleged plots in this country I am reminded of the FOI by the LibDem MP who asked how many of the arrested had been charged with ANY offence and it turned out to be a derisory small number, of which the main component was Irish. There does seem to be a lot of Govt propaganda to justify their actions and budget.

Surely you have grasped the point that ISIS have been good at using Social Media for their propaganda aims.

I cannot think of any country not involved with US aggression or that did not have a long standing problem themselves who have been attacked. Answers obvious.

They all say it is in the name of Islam.

Disruption is better than convictions of it means you get to keep you intelligence and methods secret.

There are several hundred brits fighting with ISIS, they've actively called for people to carry out attacks back in the UK... there have been Islamist attacks in the UK and there have been plenty of attacks foiled and would be attackers prevented from going further/placed under control orders, passports confiscated etc...

There were 4 ISIS members arrested and charged just last month in London:

What specific FOI request are you referring to btw?

How many of these communists you're comparing ISIS members to were caught preparing terror attacks? Did any communists carry out 7/7 style bombings or decapitate soldiers in the street or plot to bomb major sporting events?

"Two British men have reportedly been killed while fighting alongside Islamic State militants in Syria"

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-30153213

Think of the horrible things they could have done in the UK

Why ask people to make things up in their minds ?
IF these people wanted to attack UK civilians then what stopped them getting a knife and doing just that ?(when they were alive of course).

probably a fear of getting caught and facing the punishment, whereas in Iraq/syria they're free to murder and rape women and children at will.

Becuase of what they might have done had it been too difficult for them to leave the UK to fight in Syria/Iraq.

Don't try and stop these people leaving, just don't let them back.

Then we don't need to imagine what they will do to us .....if our laws are a good enough deterrent.

but we have secret courts where even the defendant and their lawyers cant see the evidence against them.

The fact they couldn't get a charge let alone a conviction in those courts shows there was clearly no evidence.

because that's a pretty ****** last act.

its hard to recruit a maryter on the basis of "ooo you'll stab a few women in the street" compared to "you'll gloriously kill thousands of our enemies in a massive attack"

So why ask people to do attacks in the uk then.

Should we be in fear ? ...shouldnt we ?

Make your minds up.

Pity you can't talk to the dead that the islamist's have killed in the UK to get their opinion.

This is why some new laws are coming out to strip them of their citizenship.

Thousands join anti-ISIS/Al-Queda protest in Germany

Why is it the Germans are able to freely express their views on Islamic extremism without childish labels of racism/xenophobia from the loony left? Also note the bit about Germany debating a law that requires all immigrants should speak German not only in public but at home as well. Not really enforceable imo but at least it sends the right message.
