3TB Internal Drive

Which 3tb HDD would be best suited for my needs?

The drive would be used just for storage (movies, music, documents etc) and streaming to my WDTV live.

I'm currently thinking either the WD Red or the HGST Deskstar Nas, or are there better alternatives?


I may also get a NAS..What are the benefits of streaming from a NAS to the WDTV instead of streaming from my PC?

NAS will use less power than a PC.

I did use a Buffalo Linkstation NAS, sold it an bought a microserver and 12tb of storage.
Best thing i ever bought.

If you are using a 3TB for critical storage then go for the WD Red drives or the Hitachi Deskstar 7K series.
