how on earth did you manage to get the crank arms the same direction and not opposite ends? did you put them on the wrong sides or something ?

It's easily done. Well, I say easily. It's easy to do it deliberately. It can be useful to put them on that way if you have a stuck pedal and need to get a hold of the chainset to get it off.

got my garmin virb fully setup now on the bike..

recorded my todays commute home, surprised that it isn't shaky, fine in low-ish light and over all very easy to use! shame that the software provided is a bit flaky but I guess I can use anything I Want eh;) the random 4gb/video cap might also be annoying for long videos(aka this couldn't be exported in 1080p) overall, for 100notes I'm very happy, as poor as probikekit service was..

traffic and danger galore.

A guys chain snapped this morning on the bunch ride and he came down, took a few riders with him at 50kmh. Broken collar bone and lots of road rash for the other guys :( stay safe people!

Traffic doesn't look like much fun indeed. Though I would say that Rusholme is as bad or worse - but it does have the advantage of only being a 1 mile stretch of road :p

I guess I just wasn't thinking when I put it back on, first time I've put cranks back on by myself! All sorted now anyway and I couldn't take it for a ride as it became apparent what the real problem was...

Strange as the wheel looked fine over the weekend with no play which is why the BB, chain and cassette were replaced.

Not very happy as those wheels have done 3,000 miles and now both of them are knackered.

Send them back, I managed to get my 13 month old wheel (mtb) that was custom made by CRC completely rebuilt when the free hub failed.

Very impressed by that quality! Is that the VIRB Elite you have (for the overlay?), I've got the standard VIRB but gotta wait 9 days until I can 'open' it!

Got mine from IWOOT for £79... Their service was useless too as they couldn't track it and it was delivered 4 days later than quoted!:rolleyes:

I've heard updating the VIRB's firmware and the software is one of the first things to do as both are very unstable before you do so... Although to be honest I'll happily use some other software as the files look like a standard .mp4 - test recording I made will happily play on my S5, I wonder if there are any quick & easy video editing apps for android...! :D

I'll get a couple of my commutes recorded, but the main aim for the VIRB is my Snowboarding holiday on the 11th Jan, looks like it the quality is gonna be awesome! :D

Ouch! Accidents are one thing, being knocked off is another, but something like that sounds totally different! Such a freak 'accident' :(

They're over a year old, were on my Raleigh which I bought in October 2013. I'm going to give them a ring but not holding out much hope.

Edit - just rang and only 12 months warranty. Only started using them recently. Oh well.

That should just pop back together. Looks like it could do with a clean inside first though.

it is the "base" version for £99! :) the only difference between the base/elite is the GPS tracking afaik, the rest is the same when it comes to sensor/quality etc! :) yeah, as soon as you plug it in and download the garmin virb software it asks you to update it, done it of course, no idea how unstable it was with original firmware but right now it seems to be fine - only a couple of hours worth of recording tho so it's a bit too early to tell!

that was 720p, 1080p is sharper and IMO for the price it is a great a camera! :)

traffic on that road is really bad! yesterday was kinda "usual" it gets a lot worse and goes from bishops bridge road to brixton on REALLY bad days.. pain up the bum.
