Docking Request Denied. Docking Request Denied. Docking Request Denied.

Jesus Christ this game is as exciting as watching paint dry. The game just feels pointless to play, no real sense of achievement even when you do get something done.

I'm waiting for Frontiers response on a refund, not holding my breath. Will have to find some dodgy forum to sell my account on.

I'm assuming you need some kind of scanner if you're going to take the "find me a black box" or "find the ancient art" missions?
They give you a system location and just flying around and hoping to find something I'm assuming is not what they expect you to do.

USS's (unknown signal sources), you'll find most USS's by just crawling around nav points on super cruise. Some USS's will be cargo, some pirate, bounty hunters ect..

I thought you'd stopped playing already? ;)

Definitely doesn't sound like your type of game.

I'm loving it, captures the feel of the original elite very nicely, cannot wait to see what it turns into over the next couple of years and I know already I'm going to be purchasing any and all expansions, I've already bought a Viper skin and will happily buy more :)

I've done my longest supercruise so far, 350,000Ls from the beacon to the only dock :o was hitting 850c in the middle part and took maybe 15 minutes.

I had the same thing earlier 350,000Ls from jump in to station

got me to wondering what sort of size the biggest systems are

I believe the current largest actually occupied system is the one with Hutton Orbital that was mentioned previously, over 6,000,000LS if I remember correctly. It's got a bit of a reputation :p

Jaradharre's like that, might even be close to 7mls I can't remember exactly but I flew it just to see what the station stocked..

If you're playing an explorer on a single player game do you still get to discover stuff all on your own? Or is the single player game linked to the multi player game and it will already show as have been discovered by other players?

The Solo just puts you in your own instance.

The galaxy is the same as the Open one just with no players.

Quick question. I'm playing a fairly standard setup, with a DS3 controller. I've remapped quite a lot of the pad and keyboard functionality and I'm gradually getting used to the interface.

Why does my Comms panel need to be closed (by hitting the Enter key) every time I exit one of my side panels?

Example: I click "1"', choose a new "Unexplored" target, click "2" to return to pilot view, but the Comms panel is now open, and I need to hit "Enter" before I can, say, use my left bumper to start my Discovery Scanner or whatever.

I've not managed to find an answer via Google just yet.

Cheers fellow Commanders :)

That's because 2 is the Comms panel afaik.

I've uninstalled it.

For me personally it's just tedious. A fancy front with no depth. The whole make your own destiny malarky is a cop out as there is so little to do thats worth while.

This is what i feared and why i held off buying. Yes FD will release more content (i really hope for free for those who already have the game and NOT as paid DLC) but atm it is not worth £39.99.

Its not 1984 David things have move on you know.... both Frontier and First Encounters had much much more depth it was all about the gameplay not the graphics. So will wait until the extra content is added....and for the price to come down a tad.

aha that's why I did the 350,000Ls one, turned out to have pretty much every ship and module for sale :)

The thing was the scale of it, coming up for the 2nd sun it just looked like 2 small planets orbiting each other but as the minutes dragged on it was actually 2 suns orbiting with their own complete planet systems. Scary stuff. Is a 3 sun system a Trinary or something? :)

Yeah I think this will be a slow burner for me, it looks great and the ship handling is really nice so I'll pick up for a few hours here and there and wait for more content to show up.

Gah imagine a followup of Freelancer with this engine :o

It was stated during the Kickstarter that there will be expansion packs and one of the Tiers included 'all future expansions' suggesting they will be charged to other users.

I paid £100 for the game and I'm satisfied that paying the money two years back was the only way to get the game up and running. What's there is good and the launch was the best of any online game I've played this year (IE, it was actually playable, unlike Diablo etc). I'm sure there's more to come but for now it gives me some of that feeling I had 30 years ago, leaving me glad they didn't opt for the full 'next gen, pay as you go' template that has ruined other long standing franchises recently.
