I'd imagine you don't give a **** who copied who making a new gfx purchase but I'll humour those that think it needs pointed out every time they mention D/VSR.
It can be argued that VSR surpasses copying Nvidia DSR as DSR doesn't support mGPU, VSR out with the 285(a bit pointless in the grand scheme of things as it only has 2Gb) doesn't hit the same res as Nvidia yet but it's coming- the important part is mGPU simply WORKS on launch with AMD out the box.
3200x1800 is the max resolution for the 290X currently, as opposed to Nvidia's higher 3840x2160 this bit Nvidia's on top, but only single cards supported on Nvidia.
You would need two 290's(right now it rules out Nvidia) to run that res with AA, but you can drop some AA on the really demanding titles and they will still look great on a single 290/970.
