Bin lorry crashes into shoppers in Glasgow: 6 feared dead

6 people are feared dead. That is not an accurate count. oh and the daily rebel. up there with the daily fail

But you said there was nothing 'suggesting' the amount dead. Which is clearly false.

There is just nothing 'confirming' the amount dead - but no one was stating there was.

Anyway, horrible accident, that was my point.

Jesus christ, does it matter what the exact number is?! They can't give an exact number yet, firstly because it is a big incident with a lot going on involving a wide range of emergency services from a number of hospitals, and secondly because some people are probably still dying.

If you've just come in here to be pedantic and use pathetic nicknames for media sources then kindly go elsewhere.

I dont really care how many are dead. 1 is to much frankly.

what ****es me off is the news reports guessing at the number.

wow, happened at 2.30pm, I am from Glasgow and I can tell you that the area in question would have been rammed with Xmas shoppers,

RIP and thoughts with the family's right now

Makes you think, I was on Queen Street at that very spot not fifteen minutes before this happened.

The part of the City where I work, which is just down from George Square is eerily quiet now...

Headline: - Islamic State Hijack a Bin Lorry and take out pedestrians....

More likely, Bin lorry driver has heart attack, due to most vehicles of this type having automatic transmissions, he probably stood on the throttle and off it went.

Tragic accident.

I trust you'll edit your own post soon enough.
I didn't realise they operated these types of bin lorries solo. Usually have a loader with them as well I thought.

Why would I edit it?

if it wasn't an accident I expect they will try to cover it up as it would cause mass panic.

Why are people so intent for this not to be an accident? Several eye witness reports of the driver slumped over the wheel, very likely a heart attack. Not everything is a conspiracy.

"Assistant Chief Constable Wayne Mawson of Police Scotland said: "Investigations continue into the circumstances of the tragic incident in George Square today. While those investigations are continuing, we can however confirm that this is not a terrorism-related incident."

Anyone in Glasgow city centre today is being urged to let family members and friends know that they are safe. Anyone who is concerned that they know someone who has been involved in the incident should contact the Police Scotland helpline number on 01786 289070."

Imagine being the driver, surviving( if he does) but knowing that you were at the wheel (albeit unconsciously). That's a hell of a lot to deal with for an already ill man
