Linx 10.1 inch Windows 8 Tablet - Any good?

RastaManBob, you might be better off with something like the Lenovo Flex10. MrsRTR has one and loves it. Small, light, touchscreen, decent keyboard which folds behind when not needed, and hers came with a FULL installation of Office, not a 365 subscription. Also, it runs full 64-bit Win8.1, not W8.1 with Bing, so RDP support is included. She picked it up for £215, so not too dissimilar to a Linx 10 and Origami case at full price.

HTH.

Also, as TheNewOC says, there is no hinge on the Linx origami case. The tablet and case connect together with magnets. If you dont fold the front cover back to make the "origami swan" (which is also held together with a magnet) then there is no way for the tablet to be propped up.

I've posted elsewhere, the Linx keyboard isnt very tactile so I will probably be using my Logitech bluetooth keyboard instead.

Linux
At the moment it seems it would be possible to dual boot with Linux by creating a 32-bit UEFI grub bootloader or looking into a distro named Fedlet.

Android
ConsoleOS looks a strong contender as we have a 64-bit Atom processor, we just need their project to come good on their comments that they're working on a 32-bit UEFI.

If these cases fit (seems similar in terms of camera cut out) then they might be ok...

I've mailed to seller to ask.

My second 10" should arrive Tuesday but both will remain boxed until Christmas. For those who have used theirs does it look as though the front and rear camera might fit that case....

Thanks for the advice. I've returned my Linx 10 today and will have a think what to get instead...

managed to get a 10" and an 8", one for my Dad. Now got to find a 7" tablet to trade.

I also got one at the cheap price.

Some debate ongoing on what exactly you can trade in but someone on HUKD suggested Arnova 7 inch Gbook Tablet. It was £20 over the weekend but no5 £25 delivered.

I traded in a very old Archos 7. That was accepted fine. The criteria seems to be "Does it have a screen at least 7", is undamaged and switches on".

Do these tablets (got the 10" version arriving shortly) support Adobe Flash and can be used to watch videos etc via a browser...?

^^ Its a full desktop OS with desktop grade hardware (albeit more like 2007 PC performance) so if you can do it on a desktop PC you can pretty much do it on one of these tablets including flash.

EDIT: That said I've had some issues with flash and a touchscreen as it doesn't see proper mouse support and sometimes hangs for awhile :|

At least it should be better, hopefully, than what Android seems to be offering with Lollipop. Even using the latest beta of Dolphin or Flashfox some sites can be problematic.
I'm hoping that a mouse will plug in and work fine for the occasions we need it as sometimes we need to use the Education City website and a few of the Flash games require a mouse.

It's £29.99 Vs the ~£150 purchase price for the 10" version if you trade in an old tablet ?

I thought the trade-in returned you £50 max ?

They were doing the 10" in store for £79.99 and you still qualified for the £50 trade in from LINX, therefore end price £29.99.

I just pick my tablet up today and I've noticed that it won't charge past 98% anyone else had this problem or any idea why it's doing it?
