Presently I have a 250gb Samsung 830, brilliant drive. I am starting to get annoyed with shifting games aroundbwih steam tool. Should I buy another ssd to have windows on 1 and games on the other or is a bigger 500gb ssd the faster read option?

if you have the money I would get a 500GB drive but if you don't you can get another 250GB drive and either raid the drives or just install it as a second ssd and install most things to that

I have a 256GB SSD for OS+apps and a 500GB SSD for games, ssd's are getting very fast no point in raid for most people.

you can pickup a OCZ ARC 480GB SSD for £139.99 which its not a bad price or a Samsung Evo 840 512GB drive for £179.99 or even the 250GB 840 EVO for £89.99 so SSD prices are quite cheap now.

been considering buying another EVO for a second drive for games

I like having a Steam only drive..

I set mine as S:, then set the icon to the Steam logo.

If anyone else wants to set a steam drive icon, download these and put them in the root of your Steam hard drive.

autorun.inf
steam.ico

You can set them as hidden files.

Need to reboot for it to take effect

:)

Looks neat in Explorer

trying to find a post/thread about getting more than 1 ssd, is it recommended in getting the same make/model of the 1st one? as i got an evo 840 in a sale today and wondering weather i should grab a 2nd as its a decent price?

I see no reason at all to match make/model on SSD's

For all intends and purposes RAIDing SSD's is not really worth it for almost all consumers, so just buy what is best at the time.
