This game seriously takes the **** sometimes. I got helm of saint 14 in the nightfall, 3 days later xur sold it. Same for the light beyond nemesis, truth, red death and now the starfire protocol. Tune in next tuesday for xurs item for sale!

So glad i'm at the point now where there's not much left to do. Got other games to start playing :D
 
For me the warlock chest and hunter gauntlets might be nice depending on the stats and perks. Though mostly tempted to buy some just so I can spend some of my strange coins instead of hoarding them.
 
Gunna have a pop at the Starfish protocol, Huntard gloves & probably give dragons breath a whirl too.
Not expecting much of the launcher but might turn out to have some use in future with the Solar Flare perk.

Need to farm some glimmer for Pocket Infinity upgrade.
 
Bit confused. I have the pre-DLC Heart of the Praxic Fire, which if maxed would give me +127 Discipline (30 Light). It's telling me that if I upgraded it with Xur, maxed out I'd get +125 Discipline (36 Light).

Not exactly a huge problem but I expected the stats to go up not down lol.
 
Might as well get it, it's not as if strange coins are hard to come by these days. Is he selling the heavy ammo synth this week?

The discipline is an rng number. Sometimes they roll with a high number, sometimes low. At least it's not a noticeable difference so you still get an upgrade overall.
 
Ah ok, didn't know the upgrades worked like that as well. I don't usually even look at those stats but that caught my eye.

Also I just realised that the 3 bits of armour and the Rocket Launcher he's selling require the DLC to be able to buy them. I should probably have mentioned that in my list.

Stats are somewhat random on armour, I have multiple pieces of the same armour purely as one has intellect and discipline for PvP and the other has discipline and strength for PvE. Why would they go up though? AFAIk Bungie haven't changed the 100% stat so +127 gives you the same % now as it did before the DLC.

Edit: Beaten like a ginger step child.
 
Dragons breath isnt worth it imo.

The number one for pve is gjallahorn, number one for pvp is the truth.

Dragons breath is sort of inbetween both and therefore it will never be used if you get the others.

Most of us should have the truth if not all of us.
 
So it seems theres going to be a large expansion pack after House of Wolves that will include a new location, subclass and new weapon types...

Dragon's breath has no tracking & leaves a solar flare upon detonation. Most enemies are preset to do anything to get out of AOE weapons/grenades. Might be useful for shoving bosses off ledges in future content I suppose? :D
I'm interested to see what kind of damage it can do on the nightfall with solar burn, see if I can trap Omnigal in it's blast?

I know Gjallargorn is the preferred launcher for PvE but I've come to terms with the fact that it's going to be some time before it drops for me.

TDB is already boring, House of Wolves needs to be good to keep Destiny fresh unitl September. Though plague of Darkness looks like it will be a good big update, might be a case of going away to play other games and come back to Destiny or it. It is going to be interesting to see the cost of it too, if TDB and HoW is at RRP £17.50/£20 each how much is Plague of Darkness going to be if it has 4 times the content.

So that's where they put the rest of the game everyone was expecting from the start!!

Really does add to the idea that they had a full game but chopped bits out to turn into dlc. Enemy names are already on the disc, the 3rd subclass slot is already waiting. This isnt content created after the disc was released.

If future updates are like TDB then you can't push them off. In the new black garden strike (can't remember its name) if you start pushing the boss towards the edge it teleports back to the middle. Rocket with AOE could be useful for PvE though, yes enemies move out of AOE but wont move through it. Get an enemy in a corner and throw an AOE grenade or work with another guardian to trap an enemy between two and they will just sit there taking damage.

That is annoying and proves how broken a game is nowadays where you need to buy DLC, especially 3 months after the release, and the price is ridiculous. For the price they ask for each dlc-especially in the UK- i would expect at least another planet with 7-10 story missions and 3 - 4 strikes each, not 1 (i know ps3-4 has 2 but the extra strike is "the Nexus" in black garden, nothing new). I dont mind if its an expansion like World of Warcraft which you pay 34 pounds or less and for 2 years you know you will be getting extra content for the original price you paid. But this is getting ridiculous and people were complaining in the past that the existence of DLC is a bad thing yet Activision is doing it and gets away with it. After all it sold like hot cakes and since that is the purpose, as a business model it works for them why not keep doing it. The game even though repetitive is addictive so win win for Activision - Blizzard and Bungie.

And to add to how much of a sheep i am, i have the game for the ps4 and the ps3 (with the expansion only for the 4) just to play when my gf is playing on the ps4. Shut up and take my money Activision! Now if they made a matchmaking system where you get randoms to do the strike or the raid i would have bought another ps4 with destiny!
