Linx 10.1 inch Windows 8 Tablet - Any good?

mine came with a screen protector of types on it.which seems to be adequate, but still looking around for a case. I did try a cheapy of eBay but it was crap and getting my money back.

Anyone know if a process like this would work

http://h10025.www1.hp.com/ewfrf/wc/document?cc=uk&lc=en&docname=c04487758#N58

Or any process to back up wimboot and try a restore

Which case did you get? Still haven't got one yet.

Mine still has teh original screen proptector on. So I have no idea if removing it will improve the touch response. Not as slick as an Ipad but can't complain.

Mine had the protector on, but some dirt/bubble underneath, so I had to remove it.

Screen is more responsive once you've clean up the residue off the screen surface.

I regretted taking it off at first, and now glad i did.

I have the average Linx keyboard, so the screen it protected anyway.

How do you find the keyboard (origami I presume)?

Just applying for the tablet trade in today and realised I missed the 14 day period by 1 day. Annoyed.

Tempted to get the 179.99 deal from argos for the 32gb 10" with the keyboard. I mainly want to play FM and Hearthstone on it. Is there much that needs doing, or is there not much bloatware in the win 8.1 install?

Also - is it capable of playing Civ 5?

Most people report it runs civ 5 but crashes when map gets busy.tablet is great, only problem I've had is the usual problem when WiFi and Bluetooth are on the same chip, when you use the on board Bluetooth it kills the WiFi speed. To sort that out I just use an external USB Bluetooth adapter.

Bought an ipega 9023 gamepad which clamps around and connects by Bluetooth,I use steam in home streaming to it, its unreal looks and feels like the game is running on the tablet itself, truly feels 'next gen'. lots of games run amazing natively on it, including flatout 2,south park stick of truth, virtual tennis 4,portal 2, half life 2 and tons more.If you YouTube for videos of the 2 most popular similar spec tablets, the t100 and the dell venue pro you can get an idea of what runs on this and what doesn't.

I couldn't get it to run Civ 5 properly. In dx11 mode it crashes as soon as you load up the map. And in dx9 it crashed after one turn.

sounds great, I was just thinking about the steam home streaming option!

Bought one for about £20 hope its good.

Just make sure the USB Bluetooth adapter is on an extension min 2 feet or so away, otherwise it hits the WiFi speed hard.same with 360 pc dongle, put it next to tablet and it kills the speed. Analogue sticks on the 9023 could be a little better but this solution is far better than any other handheld for use in home imho.

Doesn't it just use built in Bluetooth?

As I said before, the inbuilt Bluetooth kills the WiFi speed, so I use a separate Bluetooth dongle on a USB extension.you may not notice while browsing the web, but have something actively using the inbuilt Bluetooth like audio streaming and watch file transfers, web speeds and streaming plummet from 50mbps to 5mbps.

cheers must have missed that. Wonder if its the same with my dell venue pro. Think I have a BT adapter around somewhere.

Got my 10.1 Linz today and must say very impressed so far! Seems to be a fab piece of kit. Very different from my iPad mini but love the full blown windows experience on a tablet. Need to give chrome a whirl but I will admit the Internet explorer app seems pretty darn good as well. Well chuffed with it.

Just a couple of things I need now though, an sd memory card and a nice mini keyboard. I bought a case from the Forrest but didn't like the look of the one with the keyboard. Anyone else bought a keyboard to go with there's?

Purchased the origami keyboard from CCL on Ebay. Must say i am pretty impressed. Was a bit wary at first as reviews online stated the keyboard it self is warped. Mine is nothing like that and sits flat on any surface. It clips on using the built in contact pins and secures in with its magnets. The keys on the keyboard work flawlessly without any stiffness to the keys.

To be honest, its the best purchase i made combined.

Also I have android 4.4.2 root running via blustacks. Working perfectly without any lag.

Nice might take a look at it again then.

First slight hitch i have had with mine, for some reason it wont pickup my external hard drive with the OTG cable. USB pen drives seem ok, surely it has enough grunt behind it to be able to power an external drive? Tried 2, one just seems to beep and the other does nothing. Both work fine connected to my laptop though...

Is it 2.5in or 3.5in?

They are both 2.5", i was considering buying a mini usb hub to connect a few usb devices to this i.e keyboard and mouse but not to sure if i will now although i know it will have enough power to power those devices i ideally want it to power an external HD only for backup purposes.
