I found this place the other day though, really nice system.

Wow, that looks amazing!

I haven't really done any exploring yet, outside of the trips required to find Federation and Empire space. I do intend to go sight seeing eventually however.

I remember how awe-struck I was when I managed to visit some of the supergiant stars in Frontier twenty years ago, and how disappointed I was when I eventually managed to make it to Beta Lyrae only to find that the game instantly crashed upon entering the system!

Cos I really want a python !

But then you'll probably want something else.

Sorry but it just seems very bizarre to me that people would need to ask what to do to entertain themselves whilst playing a game, shouldn't really be necessary now should it...

Makes me want to stop now, if its not possible to make money and progress at a reasonable pace while having fun. Maybe once they've added more content?

Well the advice given to easily dock in cube based stations was hugely helpful, so thank you for that :)

Another question, how do you find multiple stars in a sector? really struggle to find them a lot of times

Thanks!

There are so many uncharted systems, me and my friend equip intermediate discovery scanners and just go jumping all over the place, it's quite good fun and relaxing!

I've read about a few people who've gotten as far as 20-30k lightyears, I have no idea what's out there though,

Trading will always be the fastest way to make money, however if you "rank up" with any of the 3 main factions, once you reach their top ranks you'll start getting missions which pay out 300k-400k a go, as opposed to 15k - but it takes time to get to that point.

Upgraded to a cobra, can see max cargo capacity is 60t without shields, what`s the max with?

The shield is in a class 3 slot by default I think, so whatever the class 3 cargo bay is - I'm pretty sure it's 8T making 52T in total with shields.

It`s juggling what to have and where that`s making me think too hard on a sunday evening! Looking to keep it pretty much as stock with max cargo capacity for the mo.

Are 16t cargo holds are the same mass as a 8t?

....Shields are in a class 4 slot tho.

Also if you're looking for Unidentified Signal Sources then you're best bet is just to go absolute minimum speed in super cruise (should be 30km/sec), that way when they spawn you can just target them and drop out of super cruise immediately rather than wasting time waiting until you decelerate enough to safely drop out. Basically let them come to you rather than you going to them!

Wow, this is possibly the best little piece of advice I have read. Just tried and although you said they come right to you, I didn't realise how true that would be, I thought I'd still have to travel a bit. I never had to wait more than about 20 seconds and could drop out as soon as one appeared, amazing.

Daft question, can I just play this on my own little universe as a single player, or is it only multiplayer? What kind of multiplayer? MMO style, private servers or just connect with friends and play?

It's requires internet to play, but you can play solo, private group or open play (MMO style system), open play is a nightmare as you'll never get docked at the smaller orbital platforms.

Anyone else having connection issues tonight? im out in the middle of nowhere and ive been kicked "unresponsive transaction server" errors in the last few systems, dropped to menu and it allows me to rejoin where i left off, kind of annoying.

Don't you hate it when you misread the name of system and end up travelling a couple of hundred LYs in the wrong direction?!

Meant to go to Beta Hydri. Actually went to Beta Hydrae. Massive 450LY round trip for not very much - and doubly painful because of the poor route planning performance of the galaxy map. Meant I was browsing around the map looking for my own route and manually picking the way I was going.

Lesson learnt now though - read the Bounty Board info more clearly in the future :)

My tip would be don't bother, why would you want to do something so boring.

Ok that got a LOL - if only cos I've done the same thing. I tend to use https://cmdr.club/routes/ for really long trips now.
