Fatties gonna fat....

There are a lot of people who say things like "I can't lose weight" or "I don't understand why I'm fat and you're not" to me. Then I go around their house and all becomes apparent, they eat huge meals and think it's normal.

One pal of mine is like is, so I asked him what he thought of say a ready meal portion and he said "They're too small and I'd need two of them" and I reply "Yet you still don't understand why we are different weights then? A ready meal is supposed to be one portion for an adult, not a quick snack or half a dinner".

There are smaller signals too. For example when I eat, I load up my fork, put it in my mouth, chew, swallow and THEN go back to loading my fork. However, with my weight-struggling pal above he loads up his fork, sticks it in his mouth and then whilst he's chewing that he's already loading up his fork again. So there is no time gap between swallowing one portion and sticking the next in his mouth.

Even now, he still can't understand what he is doing wrong.

Way to miss my point. I'm saying that people that take the easy option deserve to be fat.

But as usual here you are - defender of the lazy, ****less porker.
Thanks for highlighting your own inability to read or form constructive arguments.

Speaking about the causal factors related to a given behaviour isn't defending, just pragmatism. If we want to prevent/undo our current western obesity epidemic then dealing with facts as opposed to intellectually void labels should be our priority.

That's all I eat, processed stuff like spicy chicken fillets/strips, turkey drummers, oven chips etc..

Sometimes I have half a steak, some sausages or make a spag bol with mince from butchers.

Thanks for the advice.

What you eat are some of the foods that would be contributory towards depression.

What's wrong with that? Wolfing your food isn't a factor is it, surely it's the amount consumed?

I think he is hinting at the slower you eat the more time you give your stomach to signal that it is full rather than stuffing it down as quick as possible so you don't realise you are overeating.

Lol! I completely dropped sugar and all sweet things that I didn't make myself self, substituting stevia for sugar 55p per 100 pills from aldi, pumpkin pie was epic, for hidden sugar i compare the info on packs and always choose the least sugar, my biggest treat is a marks and spencer eclair with the chocolate pulled off.

It's great you lost all the weight but Calories are the thing you need to be looking at, not sugar. I went from pretty chubby to muscular with visible abs and still ate Ben & Jerrys once a week and had a Pizza on a Friday/Saturday. Sugar is just a simple Carb with 4 calories per gram, it's no worse eating Sugar than it is the equivalent amount of anything else if your only concern is weight loss

Well this study seems to suggest it may be a factor....

..although the end result is the person eating fast still consumes more, but I wasn't stating that the speed at which you eat is of itself a factor but more a 'signal' the person isn't eating the best way to lose weight when they're making their own meals.

How much tuna and what sauce?

just a tin of any kind, whatever is cheapest, and half a bottle of any pasta sauce i fancy, loads of choices, although i really like pesto - and 3 handfuls of dried pasta.

then again, i don't eat breakfast and i walk 3 miles a day after work - so that helps!

Sugar is normally people's main source of extra calories though.

Well that's a contributory factor then I guess but personally I enjoy the sensation of rapid eating, sometimes I can't get a breath with the rate of food going in :D (I curb this behaviour when eating out) Very quickly get full though and I'm not overweight.

Yeah...why savour the taste or texture or anything?

Sugar is normally people's main source of extra calories though.

Most people who are overweight have no idea how many Calories they're eating or how many they should be eating to lose weight/maintain a healthy bodyweight, they need to focus on working these things out rather than just arbitrarily eliminating certain foods. I feel people need to be able to eat foods they enjoy (in moderation) if you expect them to keep a diet up for the rest of their life, which is what they need to do

Do you like rice? Cook up a bowl of plain rice, chill it in the fridge until completely cold then add a tin of drained tuna, handful of diced raw onion, same with fresh tomato, few peas & wait for it, half a bag of salted peanuts. Mix gently taking care not break up the tuna chunks too much and enjoy! Warning - MOREISH :D

Maybe he could try a funnel?

I only came here because the title was so awesome. Fatties gonna fat ! Epic. :D

Seriously though, if you are a fatty fat fat, I feel for you. ;)

I have some great almost healthy meals that are best of both. When you get chinese, get the mixed vegetable option. I get chow mein mixed vegetables with some sweet and sour chicken balls. The sauce is probably the worst part and the oil the noodles it is all cooked in.

Another one is to get thai food from m&s and instead of cooking it in the microwave, put it a large frying pan for 3-4 minutes on high heat and you have a nice thai beef and noodles.

lazy + almost healthy

I also stopped fizzy drinks which i felt has made a big difference health wise. I was drinking over 1l a day of coke for most of my years growing up. It got so bad when i was earning ok money that i would drink coke every day without fail. I drank bottle water instead and coffee to deal with caffeine and now when i drink it, it tastes disgusting, like fizzy syrup.

Another thing that I think makes people very fat is snacking. I don't usually eat anything till about 10-1140am and some times ill have nothing till lunch time and then just grab a sandwich or a pie or pasta. Then ill eat a main meal at about 7-8pm and that will be it for the whole day. I have eaten like that bar swapping a meal around and having some icecream or bag of nanchos every so often all my adult life. I never want to eat chocolate or have additional food. I just put up with being hungry if i am hungry.
