Linx 10.1 inch Windows 8 Tablet - Any good?

Anyone had anything back from tablettradeup? Submitted on the 18th and not had anything back other than confirmation of the request. Website just says "Received - In Progress".

Not received anything other than the initial confirmation but I did mine on the 28th Dec. However, although I have the confirmation email, my tracking ID doesn't show up at all on their web site. Have sent them an email 3 days ago but as yet no response :(

First time poster, I purchased my linx 10 as a little Christmas present for myself just before Xmas. Like others so far I'm very impressed for the money. I got mine from Argos with the case.

I notice a few people have asked about Android on this device. I came across DuOS which seems pretty good. Was able to install nova launcher and performance seems half decent. I tried temple run 2 which was completely playable. Not a real solution I know but good to mess around with. It's got a 30 day free trial and is about 10 dollars to register.

Quick question on the screen protector.. like most mine came with a peel off sheet already applied, labelled "2". I took this off, but not sure if there's actually a protector still applied. I'm reluctant to start digging at the edges, but right now I'm sure there's something applied as finger prints are hard to wipe off so I'm not sure if its applied or if the tablet doesn't have the same screen coating as an iPad etc. Basically if there's something on there its must be glued down well. I'd rather remove it though.

ive had approved and postage dispatched, or something like that.

ive received my box and sent off my old ipad 1. this was 3 weeks ago now. heard nothing back.

i think they are getting far more uptake than they imagined, especially with people buying 20 tablets of the bay, and we will probably not end with a result form many of us.

i was going to write a script to crawl their trade site to check every order number, as ive check quite a few, they are just sequential, and none have been PAID.

so mine had that label on. i removed the label but no sheet came with it. i think they had already removed the sheet, then stuck the tag back on for some reason.

i did take mine off anyway, and there was defo only one layer.

Thanks for the confirmation. Will stop my urge to try and remove something that's not there.

Might look into getting some tempered glass protector with oleophobic coating as the screen seems to get covered in prints really easy and they take some getting off.

Mine also came from Argos with the screen pre-applied, however getting the tag off left a bit of a crappy residue. Doesn't bother me too much as the purpose of the device is mainly for playing streamed games from steam in bed on it (aka FM2015 :P)

I had the screen label on mine peeled it off but im not to sure if that was just one layer to protect the screen as there doesnt appear to be a screen protector layer on there now going by the finger print marks i can see!

Did anyone have any issues installing the office 365? Tried to run it but nothing happened first time so did it again and it just error-ed. I only want to install it so i can get the license key via magic jelly bean for reference then uninstall it. It wont let me install any other versions of office until this is removed even though its not actually installed by the looks of it

MS Office is already installed I believe, just need to activate it.

its not on mine for sure, the is an office folder in program files which has a 'first run' application which i run but nothing happens after that. Really strange

If you go into the Start Menu / Metro and swipe up to reveal all of the apps, there should be 'Microsoft Office' shortcut. If not, have you checked for Windows Updates and allowed all of those to download and be applied? Mine came up with a prompt for MS Office to be activated automatically when I first updated the system which I dismissed as I don't need to start using it yet and it had a date shown that I could activate it by which for mine is 23 June 2015. If you click the shortcut in Metro then you should get the activation splash screen. If you use a microsoft account to sign in to Windows I assume it will use this same account for Office and you ought to be able to sign in to the MS Office web site to manage your installs including being able to install it to one other device, namely a PC.

Thanks for that mate, i think i have now uninstalled this by mistake anyway as i was trying to install office 2013 which failed so i removed the office application from the control panel. Which one it actually was i do not know. Although Office 2013 now installs fine so cant complain :p

If you want the 'Personal' subscription based version back which gives you a few other perks such as 'Publisher', 'Access', 1TB One Drive storage and 60mins of Skype calls then you can probably get it back to open box state by following the Windows refresh process to restore it back from the recovery drive.

If you want rid of your office 365 sub if you sign in with a non MS account and try to activate it will open an IE window to activate with and the activation code will be in the URL so you can gift/sell it. I think this also works if you have chrome set to your default browser.

How does that steam streaming actually work? I was playing footy manager on my laptop and then signed into steam on my tablet and saw the Pop up about it but didn't really pay much attention to it :p

spoke to tablet trade up today with regard to my order not tracking - problem with serial number but no issue as its a computer problem thier end. They said that the 30 days to return tablet has been extended to 50 days as they have had so much demand, also that the offer was limited to 3 per household so that may cause issues for those who purchased lots!
