Shooting at French Satirical Magazine

You're clearly a bit dense.
Source for the existence of moderate Muslims?
RIP French people. I hope they catch these idiots.

Oh my,best you can come up with?

Since he said there are more and more Muslims that follow a moderate Islam then I'd assume there's some evidence for that? the numbers that Freefaller mentioned don't convince me.

the problem is inherent to the ideology of Islam.

This is a dreadful set of event's i have just been show a video involving a police officer. Condolences to his family and friends, We have contacted our own family who live in the area to make sure they are okay

A good time to re-suggest my solution to ending religious insanity. Simple steps, its a slow transition or "phase out".

step 1. Make all religious books restricted to 18 years like films and games. With the same kind of enforcement, which is not very enforced.

step 2. Stop permitting the construction of religious buildings.

step 3. Slowly start to close down religious buildings and preventing religious gatherings in public spaces.

There we have it, simple 3 step program to phase out religion.

Yes, you're right. I'm starting to think (and hope) that the officer in that video wasn't actually shot in the head and perhaps he played dead. Apparently the two officers that tragically lost their lives were guarding the front door of the building. It's not nice to speculate but I'd rather the officer in the video survived so as to lessen the propaganda effect that it has.

Sadly he is almost certainly dead, what you see is no doubt the large calibre round passing straight through his body and possibly ricocheting across the pavement.
I don't believe it was a head shot though as that would have resulted in a huge pool of blood very quickly :(

I'm pretty sure there is going to be some heavy duty crap going down in predominantly Muslim neighbourhoods in France. I'm also pretty sure there is going to be a whole lot of effort to keep France from not deporting every single Islamic person who is even remotely attached to anything regarding any radicalism at all.

Don't need it, look at the fact that there are 25% of the world's population, of which 24.9999999999% of them live in harmony in Western and Eastern civilisations, and go to school, abide by the law, have the same jobs as you and I, and are just part of society.

as long as they are in the minority here they will... just wait what happens when the tables are turned,or they are a sizeable minority.I would've thought france is a perfect example of that.
Talk to your Muslim friends or colleagues and speak to them about their faith. The hundreds of Muslim people I know, of which some I lived with for a while all behave just like a regular teenage/20something/30something/40something group of people. Most don't drink or eat pork, but most will be so normal and unspectacular you wouldn't even realise they were Muslim. They take the mick out of themselves and others as we all do - some are even white OMG!!!111

Just because they follow Islam doesn't make them weird or strange or different - in fact I'm sure you probably know more Muslims than you realise - some of us keep our religions to ourselves because it is a private thing.

I know plenty of Muslims,as we all do. Many of them get twitchy when you start criticising Islam. This has been the case from as far back a sI can remember.

Muslims and criticism of their religion.... for many it seems to be a red flag. Just my experience.

Or have the Vatican release all their hidden archives :D

Your mates sound like a barrel of laughs, when we discuss Islam it's very open and some even crack a few jokes about it and we all laugh.

The number of replies suggesting the Qur'an and '100s of other books' promoting violence is just facepalm worthy it is not even funny.

No where in the entire Qur'an does it mention the baseless violence and slaughter of innocents or 'disbelievers'. The only such mention is, in its entire context written and mentioned in a historic time of war where they it was essentially kill or be killed upon aggression - unless the 'enemy' surrenders; in which case there shall be no harm done upon them.

I do not have the sources and such for all of what I am saying but really, spend some time on google and understand yourselves before writing such drivel.

they're not my mates, just people I have known, many as far back as my school days and many from more recent times. Some are current.

Good for your mates and you to crack jokes about it... I wish it happened more.

As I put in a recent thread, in parts of the world you wouldn't last 5 seconds using Allah's name in vain, but a sizable percentage of people in the west have no issues using Jesus' name in vain with at 'worst' someone asking if they could stop blaspheming.

It's not though - it's people that use Islam as an excuse, and have skewed it to give them an excuse to do things to hide behind a megalomania induced by leaders who want power. That's all it is, it has nothing to do with religion.

Nearly 1/4 of the world's population follow Islam. If all of Islam were like this the world would be severely low in population. So clearly it isn't Islam that is the problem, but a select few power hungry madmen. Just like any other dictators they will carry on until they are knocked off their perch. No different to other power hungry leaders who are Christian/Muslim/Non Religious. It's about power.

It's sad that we haven't evolved further.

Absolutely this.

Wanting a source for the existence of moderate Muslims is like asking for evidence that David Cameron is our prime minister.

I sit opposite a moderate Muslim at work; she exists. There you go.

so the gunman who shot dead the poor police officer just mis-interpreted the quran? How often have we heard that one?

I know what you're saying however obviously for those people your interpretation holds no meaning/is not the one they wish to follow.

So sad.
