That's the difference, i believe in god and when i read that statement i just felt a tiny bit of pity for you and think "you'll see soon enough"

Religious moderates they say that murderers they don't represent the religion. This is an excuse. The murderers do represent the religion, ask them, they will tell you that they are the most dedicated of the religion, far more dedicated that some western moderates.

You can be offended all you want, you will still be extreme for being offended by a cartoon, no matter which way you look at it. I am not taking anyone's right away or suggesting that should be done. I am simply saying that religion is to blame for this and anyone who says otherwise is making excuses by trying to shift the blame from religion to some arbitrary "extremist" or "terrorism".

Of course governments and kings, have caused a lot of war as well. But that is a different subject and one bad does not justify another. Right now we are discussing religion and how that directly leads to mass murder of people creating cartoons.

I can't see how anyone can say that they shouldn't have published what they did. Nothing should be beyond criticism in a Western democracy, even Islam.
 
The thing that annoys me is the excuse 'Christians were doing the same hundreds of years ago'. Well maybe they were, but I'm not living hundreds of years ago, I'm living NOW. And right now the religion with the most violence, rape, sexism, brutality and so forth is Islam.

If there was a hypothetical choice between waiting five hundred years for Islam to become civilized, or outlawing it altogether, I know which one I'd pick. The one that will ensure my life and those I care about are better NOW.

Thankfully most sane people would see the false dichotomy, and use common sense rather than support a us vs them attitude. Guess the "common" is lost to some though.
