You must have missed the big furore last year when it turned out that a vast majority of western restaurants (Like Pizza Express) use Halal meat instead of regular meat and it's not printed anywhere or no sticker on the window.

Halal meat is the lowest tier, cheapest battery farm crap you can get in meat terms. For me most of the meat i eat now is either organic chicken or pork.

You've answered your problem there. If halal meat is cheaper then buisnesses will use it. Maybe not because it's halal but bigger profits the fact Muslims could then eat at their resturants is a bonus.

I personally don't care meat is meat.

Out of curiosity, what do you have against ~80m Turkish, ~200m Indonesians, ~20m Indians or ~7m Tatars? Islam is the religion of these people yet they are in no way associated with acts of terror and they haven't been involved in any wars or atrocities in recent times.

I don't even know where to start in dismantling absolutely everything in this comment - so I'm not even going to bother.

It just demonstrates the lack of insight a lot of people on this forum have on the beginnings of Islam and it's struggles from the very beginning with these same people - individuals who use Islam as a banner for their own selfish gains.

I don't have anything against the people at all.

I have a problem with the Ideology. It's very borderline, like the Old Testament was.

If someone came up to me in the street, even with darker skin, I wouldn't instantly jump to "OH NOES, MUSLIM" that is not what I am about or saying.

If a bunch of Britain First or BNP chronies were laying a beat down on a Muslim in the street, I would have a problem with it.

I also have grievances towards the Catholic Church, but that isn't what's being discussed on topic.

well except for widespread oppression and human rights abuses especialy towards women's rights all because their book says that its right.

but he did say Islam the religion not the people.

Turkey isn't a great example given what's going on there at the moment - I used to support their entry to the EU but since they elected their Islamist government I think they'd be a disaster. I know a lot of Turks aren't happy with the direction their country is going in, I hope they can reverse course peacefully, however the pessimist in me tells me they won't

Oh so you don't denounce Islam, you denounce certain extremist ideologies. So why say you denounce Islam, why not be more specific?

Women's rights in Turkey have taken a backward step recently, the Islamic AK party repealing the laws on marital rape for example.

but yes they have made steps for example actually making rape illegal in 2005.
