Shooting at French Satirical Magazine

Personally I don't want any xenophobic ********* in the UK either, unfortunately that's not going to happen...;)

I'm not xenophobic, my problem with muslim rules being implemented in the UK is that their rules are directly derived from a 1500 year old work of arabic fiction that I personally don't subscribe to (as does the VAST majority of the UK population)

But if it makes you feel better to just label me xenophobic, then crack on son!

I find it strange that the deputy Mayor of Paris said that this was France's 9/11 when interviewed this morning.

It's not even on the same scale unless this will escalate tremendously?

It's the largest terrorist incident on French Soil since the Algerian War of independence in the 50s/60s. I guess the "9/11" reference is because it's islamic extremists.

Didn't know not agreeing with certain laws makes you Xenophobic...

I don't agree with the legal age of gay sex being 18. Doesn't make me homophobic. ;)

Your post reads like the self indulgent fart sniffing of a wanna be intellectual.

Your post indicates he's hit the nail on the head...
Anything to back that ridiculous assertion up?

He once knew of a Muslim that lived down the road, next to his mate, that once told a mate of his mate that the muzzie said the prophet shouldn't be insulted....;)

So sounds as if the guy who shot and killed the police woman yesterday is the guy involved in the new shooting this morning.

I'm not sure these two brothers are willing to die. In the magazine shooting they clearly had and escape strategy and their actions seem to have some measure such as allowing people to evacuate the school and the print works. Hopefully the negotiator's can get them to surrender.

Set clear boundries. Lines in the sand. Right and wrong etc. etc.

Whilst you are right in that not everything is actually black and white, the laws need to be. Otherwise they are open to interpretation.

least that is how I took his post.

Laws? He was talking morals.

Laws being black and white... I'd need to think about it. In principle, yes.

It's this mentality that has weakened Western civilization.

There may be shades of grey, its true. But a society cannot define itself by shades of grey, it needs black and white to set moral limits.

And who sets the black and white legal boundaries? There will always be people upset by the boundaries, I'm sure you find many annoying and probably break them regularly.

Either way the discussion is more about moral boundaries and the way you see the world and what happens in it rather than laws.

Yet you're quite happy with rules directly derived from a 2000 year old work of fiction (the basis of our laws is Christian teachings don't forget)?

Just to clarify I'm not suggesting we should introduce any kind of laws, however we should allow for people to peacefully protest for those laws to come about, whether it be an extra days holiday minimum wage, an EDL or a Muslim oriented one. it doesn't mean we have to put it on the books.

The legal age of gay sex is not 18, so you're ok.

It's actually 16. Any reason why you don't agree with it being 18 (or possibly 16)?

Well count me labelled as xenophobic too then,

I don't care. I want nothing to do with any of it. (Obviously ones who are peaceful and don't care are ok, but lets be real the religion they worship is still dangerous as he says in the video below).

They can just go continue to oppress their own country if that's what they're after.

wannabe*

It only comes across as intellectual if you're an idiot, it's a pretty basic & clear observation. (one which this thread highlights perfectly with the misguided generalisations, emotion led rhetoric & black/white thinking)

French using 90,000 police in these ingoing incidents, they have resources we can only dream about.

We only have 127,000 for the whole of England and Wales.

I doubt there are actually 90,000 on the ground at the two incidents though? They're probably counting in everyone sitting at a desk/call center in country, as well.
