Indeed, but also they seem to have chosen to strike, rather than what most countries do and wait till their hand is forced.
When dealing with such people it's almost certainly better to just breach when you are ready, than waiting in the hope of negotiations which are unlikely to work.
Sadly that probably would be a better overall message to send out to their supporters, rather than telling the world they came out all guns blazing!
