189? I'm just getting one to 32 then just playing the bits I enjoy....no need to make the game more of a grind then necessary! After I get those 10 shards I'll prob do Roc strikes and VoG until House of Wolves....question is....how are they going to deal with the level cap raise this time? If they do raise the cap.....

I don't know, I hope they change something. It is ridiculous to me that the only way to get armour and upgrades is doing CE. As above if you have 3 different characters then you need hundreds of them, I amost have my warlock up to 32 but I am leaving my hunter at 31 as I don't think I will ever get enough drops for a 32 hunter.
Only just got enough to get 2 characters to 32. Unlikely to use those shards though as honestly I cba to rush that and find when HoW my efforts were for nothing. Might as well get the ideal raid set before I level it up...
AFAIK there's not a second set of raid gear so the only point of HM CE is the raid primary weapons and I can't see them not dropping at the Crota cp so most of that raid will likely be redundant if I rush all my characters to 32 and end up hoarding radiant material for little reason

My Warlocks are up to level 32 now following a lot of grinding to get Eris to rank 4 in order to convert the near 50 energy I had into shards. Typically Crota cheesing saw me net another 20 or so shards.... I have enough to get my hunters legs and arms up to max but I am still missing the chest (or helmet as I have exotic alternatives for both).
Perhaps they should make radiant materials a possible drop on the NF?
Hitting rank 4 also allowed me to buy the only shader I have found which works with the Obsidian mind helmet (Orange and black).
After a couple of lucky drops and a VERY generous Cryptarse (seriously three blues into legendaries in a day?!
), my wife is now two shards away from being level 30. Got her through the NF which netted her the Obsidian mind helmet as well. Her luck further continued when she picked up "Up for Anything" from a Vanguard package...
Roll on the weekly reset now as I am basically maxed on marks on all three characters and just need to get my hunter to Eris rank 4 (although why I am bothering I don't know. I can use Pigtails for anything that needs rank 4).
Due to having gun drops I only have about 6 energy so can't really exchange them at Eris. I don't think all NF but a possible drop on weekly / NF when DLC strikes. Would also be nice that when daily is DLC it guarantees radiant mats not ascendent ones.
I need to create a titan for the achievement but after seriously considering running 3 warlocks. If HoW continues like TDB then a lot less grinding involved.

I'm sure they are going to change approach with HoW. I'm not sure how I feel about the raid drop changes in TDB.
In VoG you had to run is over and over again to just get the armour pieces you need, and ended up with stacks of materials in the process you can't use. In CE you get the armour in a quick couple of runs, and then have to grind the raid for materials.

Not for everyone. It definitely drops more often which is great, and allows everyone to better create their builds with different rolls of intellect, discipline, and strength but for everyone with full sets, you can guarantee they'll be someone who's had 4 sets of boots or something silly.
It is a lot better overall though, and much easier to hit maximum light level this time around with the increased drops and material exchange.

Make a post or wait for someone to set a list and time and people drop names into it. Tuesday seem to have a regular PS4 and Friday from the looks of things from before.
Nightfall most tend to do it first thing Tuesday so they gain more XP throughout the week.
Mid_Gen is organising a "normal" VoG run tommorow evening. It will switch to hard if we have enough interest. I was planning on running my hunter through it hence normal mode first (never done it on my hunter).
NF wise we will be running it three times (wednesday probably due to raid on Tues) so should have a free spot on one of them.
CE would be good at some point this week. Set up a post in the raid thread along the lines of this:

Thank you for this info, i will see how the scedule goes and will post a few Raid runs.
I think it is 500 kills. Fire up the first mission in moon, set to lvl 9 instead of 6, go up to the checkpoint where the dead guardian is and spam kill all except the knight because the new checkpoint will kick in. Die, kill again, die, repeat. I also do most of the Eris Bounties this way if it is not a kill sword of Crota bounty

Kind of worth it for the Sunsetting shader, looks awesome with CE raid gear.

Jusk is 500 kills which I did mainly in the rocketyard. Hang around the area where the acolytes spawn out of the room and the hive on either side will constantly respawn.
Shame that the upgraded version is pretty meh (this coming from someone who loved Dr Nope and chuckles whenever void burn is active as AE comes into its own).
Oh and yeah, getting Eris to rank 4 is a hell of a chore.
EDIT: Biggest issue though is once you hit rank 4 there is no point in doing any of her bounties again apart from the XP. Even then I would only bother with the "easy" ones.

This is my go to area as well. It's great for the "kill hive from behind" bounty as you can sit behind them with a sniper and take them out while they're busy fighting it out with the Fallen.
I know you get the vanguard / crucible thing when you rank up but with nothing to buy and the packages are usually rubbish so all bounties are really pointless except for the XP.
It is less than 500, it is more like 420. From memory I did it in about 430-440 but some kills were not from the gun. Quickest way is the first mission on the moon, after the "we've woken the hive" kill everything except the knight, run to the back of the room (where the dead ghost is) and you can crouch in the black goo and shoot your own knee to die as quicker than waiting for the knight to do it.
If by accident you trigger the checkpoint and hear dinklebot say something like "I'm picking up the light of a ghost" then if you die you wont spawn before the door opens. If you go to orbit though and reload the mission you should spawn before the door open - annoying as you have to watch the cut scene again but better than doing the entire start of the mission.
Yeah I am in the throws of finishing off the other factions on Pigtails (just FWC to go) just to see if I get anything interesting.
I already have something like 14 Vanguard commendations but nothing to buy with them. Hopefully HoW will make them somewhat useful.
Looking back I should have been running FWC on my alt WL and DO on my Hunter...
