*** The Official Destiny Thread (now includes 2.0 and TTK) ***

I got all the way to sepiks prime on my level 29 warlock, had him on a sliver, literally couldn't see any red on his bar. He then proceeded to teleport just outside the room I was hiding in, and activate his vacuum cleaner attack which killed me through the wall. Happy days.

What's even more crap is that my self resurrect was litterally about to be ready as he killed me.

I can't be bothered to do it again on my own, especially at level 29. It's murder.

Damn this being in france malarky! Did you manage to get hard light this week?

Not got it yet, done one nightfall on my warlock and got heart of the praxic Fire, so that's something decent at least. After getting three lots of strange coins last week and two lots the previous week, I want a damn Hard Light! Haha.

Nothing to boast about but 20 days played time and I've had 3 characters capable of doing the nightfall since the third week this game came out and I still don't have either a Hard Light or a Hawkmoon.

I don't really care about the Hard Light as I'm not a fan of auto rifles, but the Hawkmoon would get a lot of use in both PvE and PvP if I acquired it

I got hard light and mida multi tool today from nightfall and the ir yut witch drop on crota raid. Normally that would be a good day but i already had them so dismantled them both.

2 free exotic shards i suppose.

I have to admit, I'm getting pretty bored of this game now. Endless grinding for little reward. If there was good story and some other reward scheme that then helped me defeat an equally rewarding raid or challenge then that would be great, but that isn't the case though. I grind for hours to upgrade weapons and armour so I can then spend hours on some crap raids and re run the same bounties over and over.

I think farcry and gta will be getting a lot more play time now.

Right now Destiny is just a game for collecting things.

Nobody does the bounties because they especially enjoy them, they do them for the result.

Bungie deliberately put the radiant shards in because they knew people would get to 32 very quickly and would then likely lose interest.

Right now I'll log on every week and do the raid 3 times, do the weekly & nightfall 3 times to see what rewards I get and get my shards, but after that my play time goes. I've usually nothing to do past Friday when Xur comes.

But i've had many thousands of hours of fun out of it, and will keep coming back every week until the division and battlefield hardline come out.

Ran the first of three NF's last night (following the raid) and got Monte Carlo. Not everyone's cup of tea but I love it :D.

Piphal got another MIDA (sharded) whilst Madie (our third FT member) got 11 SC's. Initially she was miffed but then realised Pip only really got 7... :p

It was a right laugh as we weren't really taking it very seriously (more like a ROC but slightly less aggressive). Sepkis went down soooo quickly to a combination of two Arc LDR's and a P&T. My THUNDERLORD quickly turned all of the adds into free ammo. We again stayed in the initial room before Sepkis (well hallway) and the only thing that bothered us was a Captain and two melee vandals who barely made it out of the their own doorway (15 rounds of TL took them all out..).

Need to run it on my WL's now.

This weeks nightfall is definitely more straight forward. Them sperm shooters though, why don't WE have weapons like that, primary pulse rifle shots that aggressively tracks target till he is hid directly behind a box / wall! (Maybe from the next DLC, seeing as they are Fallen weaponry...

P&T without upgrading the last 3 slots still did 13,333 per crit shot on the Devil Walker. One one run, Danclivo didn't even get a shot in and it was dead under the hands of my P&T and Thor's Blackhammer(?).

Poor walker.

Yeah I was all ready for another barrage of his main cannon but he went down in one "core open" run... My maxed LDR was doing 16,800 critical with around 22K on the final shot. P&T I would imagine would be doing similar damage.

Apart from the initial seciton the whole NF felt almost too easy (in an odd sort of way as I can remember struggling with this in the past despite having the right weapons). Heck I was even running it on Moody (Hunter) which is normally the character I have the most trouble on..

Maybe we were just laughing too much to notice how many times we went down (I don't think I died either thinking about it...)

Did 3 nightfalls and two weeklies....got a load of rubbish, some legendary pulse rifle, a few coins.

Our little VoG normal run dropped a 331 Plan C for me though.

Destiny is a great game, but you can burn out grinding if you chase it too much. I've given up chasing Bungie's end game....it's quite liberating. I'll just play what I enjoy, mostly VoG, Roc strikes, might go back and do some PvP sometime. It's only 6-7 weeks until House of Wolves drop and we might actually get a decent raid this time :)

I won't hold my breath till we actually play it.

The CE videos and trailer before it made it out to be quite epic, but for a raid, the only fun part was the first section up till Death Singer, then it's all about the timing and hoping no glitches.

Perhaps VoG spoilt us for what we expect in an epic area and waves of annoying teleporting enemies.

Ignoring the Dust Palace I love running a few ROC's, even with randoms. Having a strike that is challenging enough but still allows you to run around like a mad man is quite refreshing. The only exception being the "Undying Mind". The middle section of that is just chaotic! The Minotaurs feel just as tough as those in the portals on VoG hard mode yet there are a lot of them.

Get three voidwalker Warlocks chaining nova bombs though....

Most of the time I just smash stuff with my explosive round hand cannon.

Yeah I like the Undying Mind....remembering to pop a Vex glimmer boost though :) There aren't any strikes I really dislike, although Omnigul is annoyingly long.

To be fair most of CE is ok, it's just the boss fight that sucks ass. Boring for most of the participants, and the wrong mechanic (precision timing) for a game that doesn't run clients in sync and is prone to lag.

VoG is just better all round. It looks better (it's not green), sounds better (oracles and gorgons are great), the boss fights involve every player. The pacing of the whole thing is great, particular the tension ratcheting up through confluxes->oracles->templar before giving you the gorgons and jump section to wind down a bit before the finale. The challenge comes from the teamwork and puzzles, not from having bullet sponge enemies being higher level than you.

I have high hopes for House of Wolves...although my main request is that it's above ground somewhere with some Epic "move against each other" firefights :D

I see it happening in a Ketch, much like that House of Devil's mission, but long winded. Totally agree with using pacing, sound and tension makes a good Raid rather than timing.
