**GTAV OFFICIAL SYSTEM SPEC RELEASED BY ROCKSTAR**

I've had this pre-ordered for over a year. I bought the PS3 version when it first came out and I stopped myself playing it much (even though it was totally awesome) as I thought the PC version is that far away.

I also suspect my systems won't be able to max out the settings at 1440p.

Pretty sure your tri-sli 780s will be able to max out at 1440p

If Crossfire works out of the box I'm hoping to :)

Thing i hate about pc game specifications such as these is, you can never really tell how to interpret high end. You can tell what minimums are, you'll not likely run the game with hardware with less performance on lowest setting with it being playable than the hardware stated.

However WTF are recommended? I always took it as recommended hardware to play the game and average setting such as medium/high with the game being playable/FPS. But look at these!! There is quite a jump from minimum to recommended. So is recommended more like playing the game on highest settings? Or does this require a even more powerful machine?

Either way i can play game at least just not sure on what settings.

I worked in the games industry for a number of years and I've always taken 'recommended' as to play the game on the settings we as developers want the game to be judged on, and you would hope that will be to look as good as possible.

So when I read recommended spec I always take that to mean a minimum of ‘high’ quality, with the only real things you miss out on are the ‘now were showing off settings’ which they don’t expect more than a handful of people to be able to use.

Unfortunately there are more than enough publishers who put lower requirements on the box as to not put anyone off buying it, but that’s a separate issue.

Yea that's pretty much how i took recommended too! You just worded it a lot better lol.

I think there should be a baseline or set guidelines for developers when it comes to stating their requirements. As i find some games to have spot on requirements and some to not and appear well under estimated, though it should not have any estimations at all really.

Either way i hope my 4.5Ghz i5 4570k and 290x can play this game on near enough high settings with it staying around the 40-60FPS mark.

I suspect those recommended specs would be based on playing at 30 fps 1080p,a 7870 while more powerful than the ps4's gpu is not enough to effectively double its framerate.

Be very interesting to see, the "to the metal" advantages of the consoles doesn't seem to be making much diference so far as gpu's like the 750 ti etc seem to be putting in comparable performance at ps4/Xbox one like settings.

Specs look promising if that's what they really are, let's hope it isn't GTA 4 performance...

Also release date change is annoying as my last exam is on the 22nd January so I was quite looking forward to playing it not long afterwards :(

I still need a new GPU before the release so in a way I'm kinda glad it's been pushed back a bit longer. That and if it means the game isn't broken on launch it'll be worth the wait.

Kinda crazy how long it has taken to get the PC port together though. Almost a year and a half on since it was first released on the 360 and PS3.

It's not that crazy, since it's not just a simple port.

Xbox 360 and PS3 architectures are quite different to PC, and they've spent time adding things like first person mode.

Clearly Xbox One and PS4 were the priority in terms of sales. They are quite similar to PC, so once they got that right at 1080p, they could focus on getting the PC version running better with the improved hardware that most users have.

To be honest I am just hoping it isn't GTA 4 physics, GTA 4 was no worse graphics engine wise than GTA 3 was, however what set it apart was the moon mavity vehicle handling, aside from the biker expansion it was just unplayable. Take a corner at >2MPH = roll over, what the hell lol.
