****The Nintendo 3DS Thread****

You're preaching to the choir, I already own a New 3DSXL and 3DS XL. :p

My opinion was of the very gaudy looking special editions. ;)

Showoff. I don't know myself what it is I think it's just because it is limited. I have an XL Fire Emblem edition which is quite plain really. In all honesty I'm torn about what I really want as I love the simple looks of the new white 3ds! Unrelated, I was given a Tissot watch and as I don't wear them I put on ebay and it sold for £250 unboxed etc. Was a nice bonus!

n3DS plus faceplates is better than a limited edition, at least for me it is.

Yeah I agree plus I hate pre installed games, I'm just not sure because of the new c stick (although wont be used for a while) how Ill cope on the smaller console. In all honesty I don't care what the console looks like when I'm playing it.
I was switching between my XL and 3DS last night and I appreciated the sharper picture on the 3DS but I also enjoyed the extra size of the XL on some games like Zelda OOT. I know it's a bit bigger on the New 3DS so maybe it's a good compromise. I'm fairly sure I used to get cramped hands with long sessions on the 3DS as well.

I'm a sucker for a nice resolution so since the standard and XL have the same res, the smaller screen is strangely a pro to me not a con...

Plus, the white with SNES coloured buttons is the nicest looking one by a country mile.

Personally think most special editions look a bit tacky :p. Think I may go for the regular New 3DS and keep my old XL for the time being. How much are second hand XLs currently going for?

So I went into Game today and asked how the trade in worked with the data transfer between 2 systems would I take it home for 24hr etc. They said depending on how much data was to be transferred either I would get to take it home or and this method they preferred we transferred it in store. They are offering £62 on 3dsXL trade in if that helps. But they said they might be a better offer in closer to the date hence I am not preordering.

So what's good about the new 3ds? Sorry If mentioned or answered already!

Nicer overall design and slightly bigger screen too for the smaller version

C-Stick which acts as a second analogue stick, mainly used for rotating the camera in games like Monster Hunter.

ZR and ZL buttons act as R2 and L2 buttons on a normal gamepad.

Faster - Loading times and overall speed of the OS is much faster. Some new games like Xenoblade Chronicles will be exclusive to the New 3DS.

3D head tracking means the 3D effect won't be ruined by moving your head slightly. Also works in the dark.

Interchangeable face plates.

Amiibo support.

There may be some I missed but they seem to be the main points.
