It was all over in minutes, someone else had seen what was going on and was already on the phone to the police as I was, the call handler told me.I've wondered if I would do the same in that position, because how do you "keep hold of him" for all that time? If I were caught committing a crime I think I'd put of a pretty good fight to get away from a bystander, so it must be quite a risk to do what you did OP unless you have a substantial physical advantage, or the bloke gave up!

Good on you. I just hope you blindfolded him so he doesn't know where you live or what you look like. This could turn nasty in the long run.
Do you actually have any proof they tried to steal a vehicle? Otherwise they'll just let him go.
