The HTC One Hima (M9) Thread

I agree with the comments on HTC quality control. My 3rd HTC One m7 is currently away for repair. Prior to the m7, I went through 4 One X's so I'm now keeping an eye on the offerings from Sony.

I hope they release the phone on the same day like they did with the M8!

HTC's next flagship phone to be unveiled on March 1st

While we're still in the middle of January, some of us are already hearing bits about the upcoming MWC. One e-mail that caught our attention comes from none other than HTC, who is already teasing its very own Barcelona event on March 1st -- the day before MWC kicks off. We understand that this will be the launch of the company's next flagship device, which sounds about right; the One (M8) was unveiled back in March 25th and went to market soon afterwards.

The invitation itself doesn't show much other than a "utopia in progress" line over a cosmic background (full image attached after the break), though the latter may be teasing some breakthrough camera technology, as we once heard a little while back. As always, we'll be at Barcelona to find out what HTC and others got up their sleeves, so stay tuned.

Source.

Bring on March, and a decent camera please HTC! :D

EDIT - I thought my text had been transformed into a picture magically then :o:p

All over this, for me they need to make it a little smaller and an improvement on build quality and it will be perfect.

I'd like one (contract is up in May) but my M7 has started to go faulty (frequently doesn't charge, seems to haemorrhage battery for no reason completely randomly even with a clean flash and no apps installed). I kind of expect a phone to last 2 years before it starts to fail. None of my Apple devices have developed such faults.

Why are people getting moist over the black bar?

If it isn't black and glass, it'll be covered with silver aluminium. HTC are not intentionally wasting that space - they just can't do anything with it.

Makes the phone much taller then it needs be, the Nexus 5 is almost a 1cm shorter with the same size display.

Thats not a user problem, the user doesn't care how or why these choices are made, its just taller then other similar phones and it doesn't need too be.

That looks exactly like an M8, I bet its just got M9 internals for testing.

I don't buy that HTC have the black bar there for a reason other than the logo. Other companies make phones with slimmer bezels and front facing speakers such as the Z3 compact.

Regardless I will be purchasing this phone when its out. My M7 has a few issues now and I just want rid.
