Thank you ocuk

Really sorry to hear the news about your family but glad to hear OCUK have at least brought a smile to your face. Nice work Eyedot.

That's great, well done Eyedot :) Hopefully a tough time can be made a little easier as a result.

One other post from that thread tugged at the old heart strings for me - Johnny6

Give it to me and I'll put it towards my friends fund raising campaign for his daughter who has been diagnosed with cancer at 9 months old.

The money raised is to help cover costs incurred to get her treatment at GOSH, plus help support them during this time.

Just bunged a tenner over. I can't afford £200 but hopefully it's an every little helps situation.

I know eyedot personally, he is a very generous guy. Good friend too.

I love that he has picked a cause that is truely heart warming and makes a difference.

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the people in this post http://forums.overclockers.co.uk/showthread.php?t=18649981

Eyedot has e-mailed me and will donate the money to my family.

I don't normally post in threads like that but i am having a rough time as of late,my ex is really ill and cant walk 20 ft,she has got her mum (70) living with her for the foreseeable future to help out,it is my ex's 50th birthday on the 25th and all 3 of us were meant to be going to the 02 arena to see our daughter sing in a choir,a very proud moment for the 3 of us and i no doubt will be going on my own to see my daughter.

I want to take this moment to speak about cancer quickly,it can destroy life's in less than a minute but with the help of the amazing cancer people we can all get over this deadly disease.

If you know someone close to you who has cancer....speak up,i have found it a lot easier to talk about it and open up to my feelings.

Once again, a big thank you to the most amazing forums on the web.

The right man got the funds IMO.

Re your second comment, my father went in for a prostate biopsy (needle up the backside) on Christmas Eve 2012, already well aware that a week earlier the consultant had said it looks like cancer. Sure enough it was and in January 2013 he had his op. He's been left with a few side effects from it all but overall he is in good health and over 18 months clear now.

I always thought Cancer wouldnt directly effect anyone I care about..... so so wrong

Just wanted to say a big thank you to the 2 gentlemen who donated as well, you have truly made me cry with the generosity you have shown.

I'm now looking at a weekend in London due to this :)

Had some more bad news yesterday,i was round the ex's having a chat after i took our daughter to school,it appears that the ex's mum's sisters (twins) both have cancer as well, have been informed my daughter has to be tested for it as well, she wont be tested now but later on when she reaches puberty.

So the ex has got breast, lung, liver and bone cancer, she will have both breast removed due to the amount of cancer in her body, and now my daughter has a chance of having it also, not one of my better starts to a new year :(

Oh dear :( Well at least you'll be able to test for it early in your daughter. There's no real reason to think she'll have it, but if she does, you'll be catching it early enough to more than likely do something about it!

Fingers crossed for you. But at least you've got a head start with enough warning.

The fight against cancer is also moving fast.

An amazing gesture from Eyedot. Cancer is a scary thing to deal with, for everyone. Good luck to your family Schizo. I wish you all the best.

If she gets tested early and they identify the gene then there are preventative measures to take that will literally stop her getting cancer, very similar to Angelina Jolie. All the best to you and I sincerely hope it all works out.
